Small achievement you managed to do today....How did it make you feel? Did it help you feel better today?

Hi everyone..

Their are days when just getting out of bed is a huge achievement...Other days we can achieve things like washing up the dishes or clothes, sweeping the floors, mopping the floors..very mundane and automatic robot like chores for the mentally well...They do these chores without even thinking about them...for people struggling with their mental health..these are huge tasks...

Very often I’ll get my vacuum cleaner out to vacuum ...then it will sit their for days, me looking at it, walking over it...until I can get motivated enough to vacuum..after I do find the motivation to vacuum...I am pleased with myself...
Right now I have a small foot cycling peddle machine, sitting on my front veranda..I got it out last week..to start exercising..it’s still their, I’m still looking at it...My thoughts each night is I’ll use it for a few minutes tomorrow..

My car hasn’t been washed getting close to a year now I think...Today I did managed to wash it....and discovered that it has a nice shine on it.....I did it...I achieved something positive today..which made me feel better in myself...

Have you achieved a little something today...and how did it make you feel...If you want to share that achievement it might make other people a bit more motivated to achieve something they need/want to do..

Looking forward to hearing about your achievement....and how it made you feel..

Little steps and achievements can lead to bigger steps..and bigger achievements...

My kindest and most caring thoughts...everyone.
Grandy...

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all coping well. I wanted to let everyone know what I did today as I finally have some hope in my life for the first time in years.

I went to church. I know that may not seem like a big thing but I didn't go for a church service I just went there for safety and to reflect on the first anniversary of the death of my father.

I was crying in the corner of the church when a man came up to me and offered to help me with my issues, I feel like I have a chance at safety in my life. I even smiled for the first time in a very long time.

I won't bore anyone with anymore details but it looks like I have a chance at counselling, some food and a temporary place to stay. I'm scared but as long as I take it slowly I should be OK, I hope. I will be going against my husband and I'm scared.

Regards,

Emo.

today i used some inspiration from pinterest to make a colourful meal which was just fruits and veg arranged in a colourful salad

it was nice and soothing

the blueberries i used were so sweet and complemented by the other items

scrubbed my toilet clean today and kept the bathroom clean by scrubbing it with vinegar

small task but done

feels good! was a nice thing to do to feel more in control

I helped a friend sort through clothes of a relative, I don’t know much about clothes but friend was overwhelmed.
I felt, good for helping a friend.

hi quirky it's amazing sometimes the prescence of another person makes a task so much easier. i'm sure ur willingness to help did wanders for ur friend. I often clean while i'm on the phone to a friend, even though they're not physically there, the prescence or someone over the phone even gives me a sort of comfort and support enough to just keep going even though cleaning is burdensome.

Last night i cleaned my stovetop burners, took them apart and cleaned inside and then cleaned the whole area.

Initially it was frustrating as this created more mess and I felt I was getting no where and the grates and burners still didnt look clean

But i went over it a few times and now i feel so amazing about it, to feel that it is thoroughly clean, realise how much it was really bothering me to look at. Very pleased and cathartic

I did two things today. When I was at my most unwell my doctor used to encourage me to just do one thing each day, but I couldn’t!

Anyway today I went on a walk with hubby and I emptied all the little bins in the bedrooms, laundry, bathroom & loo. Such little achievements really but I do feel chuffed!

I read the unicef version of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

I felt satisfaction, contentment, anger and sadness as I read it.

Australia isn't meeting a few of those rights well for children in custody, we can do better.
