Hi Samsonsam,
Thank you for your post and question - this is a really interesting topic. I'm sorry your post hasn't been answered yet.
I have heard a lot about cold showers, but personally I don't think they work for me. I also shower at night where as I think I read the benefits of cold showers work best in the morning? Having said that though, I do find that sometimes turning the water on cold can help to ground me if I'm struggling a bit. Certainly not at all like Wim Hoff (who likes very cold showers and baths!).
What are your own experiences?

Hi Samsonsam
Thankyou for the great post
You have mentioned an important point here as I have relative that has had ongoing anxiety and I mentioned to 'have a cold shower'...when she was feeling super anxious.....and yes....the cold water diffused the anxiety in a heartbeat! Even though it was short term relief it was a huge help for her to re-focus
Anxiety of any type or level can be minimized/reduced.....and you have mentioned a great method to accomplish doing so...Excellent post Samsonsam!
you have helped more people than you know ....especially with anticipatory anxiety
my kind thoughts
Paul

Hi Samsonsam,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with cold showers! I know somebody who has tried it, and I think after reading your post I may try it myself now in these summer months. How did you find out about it?

A cold shower isn't that different to tasks that we put off in life and give our selves excuses on why we can't do it. We dont do things because the thought of it is mentally painful and when we try do them it's also painful but the results can be extremely positive. If you can get through with having a cold shower you are mentally preparing yourself to get through the tasks in life that are mentally painful. In many ways similar to meditation which is why some people actually meditate while they have their cold showers.
