Dealing with triggers at work etc... past abuse

I’m really struggling as a teacher who has to constantly (well periodically, but feels like all the time) update and complete compliance regarding child safety.

I know how important it is. I know why we do it etc. I just find it so triggering and so difficult to complete. I just don’t know how to deal with all the pain, feelings and flashbacks it brings.

how do others here deal with this kind of thing?

Hi welcome

My daughter was a teacher and now can no longer teach due to ptsd and bipolar.

In terms of triggers and work stresses can I recommend a few threads to read. The first post is the important one.

Just put them in the search bar at the top.

triggers that down you, triggers that lift you

fortress of survival (workplace)

guilt the tormentor

worry worry worry

anxiety how I eliminated it

meditation, he helped me for 25 years- Maharaji

we have thousands of threads you can search for

Thanks Tony, will have a read.
I love my job, and students. I teach year 11/12 and feel like all the protections we put in place for students almost work against their safety in terms of their relationships with people who can help them.
I am completing my child safety modules/refreshers and they just trigger me and my own experiences so much but also fill me with fear and sadness for what humanising relationships these ‘protections’ also take away for our students.

Hi again

just checking in to see how you are.

I hope you’ve improved

Thanks Tony.

...struggling a bit. This was probably symptomatic of a bigger issue. I did start another thread.

Appreciate the check in.
