Hi all,
I took abit of convincing myself to join the forums and write in here but just wanted some advice.
in the past two weeks, I have had anxiety spiralling out of control, I am unable to concentrate at work or at home, I continually think of the worst case scenario in anything, I wake up in the middle of the night having panic attacks (heart racing, in shaking, heavy breathing) I haven't slept more than 4 hours each night and during the day I am in a constant stressed state that by 2 pm I am tired as can be, I hate being alone, if I'm driving I feel the need to call someone just so I can get my mind off my anxiety and contanst worry feelings. I have lost my appetite, eating maybe one meal a day simply because I cannot eat. I have tried natural over the counter medicine to try and alleviate the anxiety and calm me down but they don't work.... Does this sound like GAD and should I see a doctor about medication?
thank you in advance for your replies.
Jay

Hi CMF & Geoff,
I am not going to lie, it is tough at the moment. So many emotions running through me that I am struggling to cope with them all, I was speaking with a friend the other night over text around 12:30 am and I was saying how I just don't want to feel this pain anymore, the anxiety everything. It is driving me to the ground. I keep dreaming I am dying. It is smashing me. During the day I am fine and hide it all behind the great smile of mine. It is a struggle at the moment. I will keep on keeping on as that is all I know. I thought I would of had more support from friends and family but in reality I can count on one hand the people in real life who are supporting me, not to mention you guys as well which is driving me forward. I am sorry I am not on here much at the moment. I will be back soon.
My best,
Jay

Dear Jay,
I am so relieved to hear from you, i have been so worried. It breaks my heart to hear how much you are struggling. I wish i could take away the pain and the bad dreams. It's never ceases to amaze me how people can turn their back when you need them most. Are you having some counseling Jay? If you don't mind me asking are you still under the same roof and/or communicating?
No need to apologize for being away from the forums Jay. The most important thing is that we help you through this, one step at a time. I am here for you Jay anytime you want to talk or ask questions.
Thinking of you Jay and here for you.

Jay, when i am really down and out i like to read quotes to find words of comfort and hope. I found this for you;
“Life always waits for some crisis to occur before revealing itself at its most brilliant.” ~ Paulo Coelho
When you’re faced with a crisis like a breakup it’s actually life’s way of asking you what you really want. You now have a better idea of what you don’t want, so you can get clearer about what you do want and focus on that. A breakup is a fresh chance to start over, to work on you for a little while and then attract the person of your dreams, edited to include all of your new desires that were formed from your last relationship.

Hello Jay
There are no apologies necessary for not being on the air....(unless you wish to of course!)

Hi Jay,
Just wanted to remind you (as CMF and Geoff and Paul have already said) that we admire and value and care about you even if you don't feel like smiling.
If you are struggling it is right to put yourself first. CMF had the right idea... Got a counsellor to have a talk with? Or talk here if it helps you. No guilt or pressure on you to write ok. Let us support you for a change?
I hope tomorrow you are able to find even one moment where your smile feels genuine to you.
❤Nat
