Was offered a job... then it was taken away

It's been a hard few days. After a nine month application process for an ideal job, I was offered and then subsequently told that I was ultimately ineligible. Am mostly feeling just distraught, as it was my dream job and I would have been given job security in a time I really needed it. Now I have no job and no income... trying to always find the bright side in life.

Hi JamesS,
Oh no! That's awful to hear. It feels like one thing to be knocked down for a job, but to work for nine months for it and especially in 2020?! It's no wonder that you are feeling distraught.
Can you tell us what you've found in looking for the bright side of life? That is such an optimistic attitude to have even if it's okay when you can't find any bright sides sometimes.

Hey James,
That is very difficult, I am so sorry to hear that it unfolded like that, especially after what sounds like a very lengthy application process. I would feel absolutely gutted too if that happened. Please take care of yourself and try to hold on to hope (I know easier said than done). Are you eligible for any income support while you try to scope out other options?

Hello JamesS,
It's so unfair to have this robbed from you just when you thought things would be looking up! I don't know if this is worth a shot, but did you try asking why you were ineligible and see if there is any way around it?
I'm really sorry this happened. I hope you find another job soon.
Kindly,
M
