hi Marty, your comment is brief but straight to the point, so you must be in a position where you are finding your life very difficult and probably has been for a long time.
I hope that now you can get back to us and if it suits you just tell a small bit more, because you may not want to mention everything, so let's take it slowly. Geoff.

Hi there Marty1,

Yeah sometimes life can seem like it's all for nothing but it is what you make of it. If you can see life for what it is, a whole world of opportunities, then you can make it turn out the way you want it to. Sure there will be obstacles whether financial or with relationships and so on, but I'd much rather stick around and see what happens, there's nothing worse than having a question mark on your life of what you could have done, wouldn't you agree?

I don't think people always understand that. I have had depression since 1975, and I have spent most of that time being sick and tired of everything. That I am still here at all is a miracle. How long have you felt like that Marty1?

Hi there, life is awful at the moment. Lost my mum last year and my girlfriend this year. I have no one left, family or others. I have had thoughts of ending it all but no plans. That's just the tip of the iceberg. I haven't been eating or taking proper care of myself and I don't really care. In regards to what else is going on it's almost unfathomable. Would just like to talk to people on the forum. The sooner the better.

Not really Gabby. I'm not afraid of death, in fact I embrace it. I'm an atheist borderline agnostic, so at least in death I won't even know I'm dead. I don't want to go to some kind of utopia for eternity. I have lost pretty much everything, including family and friends. Isolated and self destructive. Inconsequentialy nothing much brings me happiness. I'm not out for death but if it happens I couldn't care less. Better than living a mundane, miserable existence.

Hi Marty,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing and like Geoff said, its good to be straight to the point. Can I ask how long you have felt like this and if something like an event triggered this for you ? I am happy to hear that you are not out for death, I do understand that feeling to some degree where life can be quite mundance and not much bringing you happiness. It is good that you know this about yourself, it shows you have good insight into your thoughts and feelings. Is there a reason that you have lost everything including friends and family? It must be hard for your being isolated. I think just take one day at a time and try to find someone you feel comfortable to talk to like GP or professional or our line for a start 1300 22 4636 to try to find that connection with yourself and with people again. I have had a similar experience that was caused by a traumatic event and I didn't even realise that I was disconnected but like you explained nothing made me happy, everyday was flat and boring even food didn't interest me. I am alot better now but I have done alot of work and healing and things for myself that I like for example yoga and walking on the beach and some good talks / meditation but everyone is different. I wish the best for you and hope that you can find the happiness that you deserve and please stay connected with us if it feels right for you 🙂 Best wishes Nikkir x

I don't believe in miracles. I do believe in cause and effect but that's about it. I'm an atheist so miracles are fairly tales to me. I was brought up religious and suppressed by it's dogma. It seems the more I try to benefit myself the more It leads to no avail.

hi Marty, I also don't believe in miracles and I'm also a atheist and have had this feeling for 56 years or so, and there have been so many questions I used to ask myself a long time ago that were never answered, so if people want to believe in religion that's OK by me, just as long as they don't try and preach their ways onto me, and don't worry there has been so many times when I tried to benfit myself but failed, but now this has changed and that's what we want to try and do with you is to help you, but you have to trust us first. Geoff.
