I think I have depression I’m scared

I’m freaking out because I’m been feeling low for 13 days almost 14 I think I might have or be developing depression I’m afraid that all my motivation I have now is going to go I need to feel happy again can anyone tell what depression is i don’t understand it.

That's what depression makes us feel - but you are anything but a burden.

I always felt like a burden to everyone, which is one of the reasons why I never opened up to anyone or get help. You are worth something to alot of people and that's worth fighting for.

I hope your psych session goes well.

Me and my girlfriend had a big issue and I’ve been crying for 2 days I even had to get a welfare check today because I felt unsafe

Dear G12345

What's going on? Remember you can open up here and be safe doing that. It's important to share how you're feeling to lighten your burden, it's no burden on us, we're here to help and help you we will.

If ANYONE in your life is calling you 'a burden' then they are not good for you right now. This says a whole lot more about them than you.

You can ALWAYS call the BB helpline 24/7 and talk through your feelings there too.

I will challenge you to embrace depression rather than be scared of it. When we feel depressed it can often be our SELF crying out to be understood, nurtured, cared for. You can provide this to yourself.

I urge you to begin a Journal and write out your feelings with dates. If you're comfortable you can write things out here.

You may begin to see a pattern to your down times / what happened just before your low times. THIS is what you may be able to change and or nurture for yourself.

Aim high. You can beat depression and with the right things for you, you will knock this on the head.

Dear G, crying is good, it releases endorphins (I think!), let it out and try to relax in a warm bath or shower, have something to eat and go to sleep.

What is upsetting you?

Is it only your mental health? Or are you having other issues that are making you very sad at the moment?

Please remember some of us need to hit rock bottom before we seek the support we need.

You don't need to go this far, you are seeking help here which is great! You're doing well.
I want to encourage you to phone the BB Helpline and talk through things.
You can do this anonymously at ANY time of the day or night.

Get whatever help you need right now. This will pass. You will get the right support if you seek it.

Take care of yourself and please let us know how you're getting on.
