I am just a bit ( a lot ) down right now 😞 I must be out of my rent house by first week in Nov, I have had a month and a half of rejections after rejections and no real estate would tell me what I was doing wrong,, till today I finally got one to answer me.... I have 8 children and with only 2 weeks to find a place I'm told home owners don't want a family of 10 in their homes... I am so deflated and have been feeling like doing something bad, I am so worried for my kids ,, my youngest is 4months. A few years ago we went homeless for almost a year and i promised my kids it would never happen again.... I feel like crying as I can see it coming again. Anyone have any ideas what I can do to keep a roof over our heads?

Thank you for your kind response and help, I don't have access to a phone right now, I am my wife's carer , I have peripheral neuropathy, meniers disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, my 4yrs old is level3 autistic, I am so stressed over this it is killing me ( no joke ). because of covid19 my landlord is down sizing their portfolio by selling some assets ( the house ) I thought hey fair enough no biggy OMG! many people are in the same boat right now and we are at the bottom of every list as we are a large family and no one wants kids in their houses... I'm seriously having chest pains over it.

Hello OfangBur, a warm welcome and thanks for providing us with your comment, which must be devastating news for you.

One place who maybe able to help you is Anglicare, they were of great assistance when I needed someone, and know they do have accommodation until another solution can be found.

Please let us know.

Geoff.

Hi OfangBur,

Welcome to the forums and thank you for reaching out to us. It sounds like you're going through such a difficult time right now (and that might be an understatement!) so I hope you can find some support here.

One resource I want to suggest is www.askizzy.org.au - You can enter your postcode there so it can find services just for you in your area. A lot of these services have websites and 'contact us' forms or emails so you can try there.

As for making a phone call, I wonder if you might be able to pop into one of these services (eligible or not), and ask them about making phone calls? A lot of community centres allow people to use phones for these sorts of services, and even places such as Centrelink can allow you to do so as well. A lot of these places also have case managers so even if they're not able to help you specifically, they can usually do referrals to someone who can.

I hope this helps a little.
