Ike 1965, things sound tough at the moment.

Do you have anyone to talk to about things? That is a good place to start.

Your GP can give you some advice about how to/where  get some help and support.

Let us know how things go.

Dear Ike,

I'm 2 years older than you and we've had our fair share of finance problems.   Eventually we see a friend and write it all done and somehow figure how best to handle things.   It's just impossible to keep everything in your head along with your family pressure and uncertainty about the future.

Moderator A's suggestion of a GP is on the same lines but sometimes you don't want to spill the beans with a new professional, you just want to count them with a friend.  Years ago I worked for an Electricity Company as a programmer and they completely stuffed their 1986 budget.    The Director just said "Oh well, I guess we'll have to make the 3 yr plan a 5 yr plan".   I mean, long term is a better perspective but sometimes we fall into the trap of imagining that our long term living will be as bad as the short term disaster.

I think finance stress is a bit like vomit.   You try and clear it up the best you can and hope that things settle.  But you still get that smell of vomit/disaster sometimes.   I hope you're not reading this whilst eating.  Sorry.   My wife once got stopped in the street for jay walking by a Policeman and, as she had morning sickness, managed somehow to vomit all over him.  But you know that Policeman would have gone back to work the next day.  We still laugh at that when driving by that street.  All I'm saying is a bit of perspective will get your brain out of the circles.   Even lotto winners sometimes end up in similar dire circumstances.

Adios, David.
