I got to admit,I love reading at the best of times. Those of us who love to read tend to get the most out of books.I'm a big fan of books that I can learn from.Self help books, relationship books, etc. There's something worth learning.I even read up on dating books just to relearn some skills. As a guy I also love the guy stuff, cars, hobbies, interests, man cave, etc.
What book are you reading? What books are you reading? What helps you?
Thanks.

I've been reading graphic novels and some short stories by Sam Shepard - they are amazing.
I enjoy the graphic novels by Lynda Barry, she also has two books about creativity that are amazing (What it is and Syllabus)
she teaches a multidisiplinary course at an American university whch suits writers, artists and creators of all kinds, and uses drawing and diary-writing to take away self-consciousness when creating. She's so cool!!

Recently finished - couple of short stories by Robin Gibb and George RR Martin. And before that a D&D novel set in Neverwinter.
This is one of the few times I get to sit down and just read and I find it a good distraction as well

Hi all
Bought a book recently called The Group by Christie Tate, a new release.
It's meant to be about how she heals from suicidal ideation and an eating disorder through group therapy... but she was previously a well-known blogger for Mum's and some ppl find her account here a bit shallow and also question if the therapy she received is so ethical... Not sure what to make of the book, on a very simple level, the writing is engaging and raw.
I'm enjoying the story although I think there might be better takes in the MH genre...
It's a "Reece's pick" lol selected by Reece Witherspoon for her reading circle...

Hey Sleepy, Lynda Barry sounds a bit fascinating. Would love to take one of her writing workshops! (I did a bit of a google about her).
I'm reading Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut

It started ok but went downhill from there.
The Robin Hobb story titled "homecoming" was a quarter the length and much better.

Hi Katy -
I really benefited from the books on creativity and did all the excercises! Her classes look so amazing. It is the only creativity book I've managed to get into... I've tried also The Artist's Way and Big Magic as two other creativity crash-courses.
Do u like drawing? Some of her excercises are so soothing and involve doodling and drawing as a way to get in a creative "zone"
