It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

We just need a name 🙂

Have you ever put a pair of socks in a microwave for 10 seconds? Note that is a question, not an instruction.

What would happen to those socks in 10 seconds? Would they become warm? but not too warm to wear warmly?

Hi D&G , mmmm well as long as the sox were dry and not on to long they might not burn but I suspect that it could easily end in smoke & tears ? I would only cook my feet if I had no more use for them but still need them so they are safe for now 😂.

How are you fairing in these very altered times ? The southern lockdowns and northern & western lockouts have far reaching consequence effecting most of us by now. Many I had not considered ? Hugs for you if needed or wanted ❤❤❤( are the hands happier now ?)

In 1979 on the WA/NT border 40 km east of Kununurra there was a big parking bay just east of a small hill/range ( now a huge quarantine station ) that is essentially red granite with yellow flecks in it . Many of the regulars of that road would camp at the end of a long day there .

I used to have the swag in the truck and loved to make a nest up on top of the freight if I could and sleep there . When daylight is just beginning the little black flies wake up and walk on your face and sometimes even investigate nostrils and ears . I challenge any person to sleep through that !!! Natures alarm clock they are !

You wake and look at these hills and as the day wakes they continuously change colour till the day is born . It is something that is incredibly beautiful and each time you see it you leave with the soul topped up for the day . Eventually tear yourself out of bed and into the new day with all its challenges in new places till its time once more to sleep . Each day for the long distance truck drivers in remote areas is usually very different from the last and the next . There are few certainties for them .

dng hi , nah wouldn't really set my sox on fire , just kidding . I use my microwave quite a lot to do cooking when away in Mr A . Many years ( 3+ decades ) ago I was sus about microwave cooking and Sony or Sanyo had a microwave cooking school in WA so I went to school to learn about them and cooking with them . Very very interesting and once you gain a bit of knowledge of the microwave and how it all works in the food you can do almost everything a conventional oven will do ( except browning , there is a rub for that ) . In fact a friend of mine has just bought a wall oven that combines steam , microwave , fan forced and convection in it . What a magnificent tool it is to ! Anyway how was your weekend ? Lol and dont worry , be happy xxx ❤❤❤

The day was windy here yesterday but totally beautiful sun . Sat outside for a little bit and was lovely ! My friend in Melbourne had rain pattering on the roof while I did the reptilian thing out of the wind . I should be so lucky ❤.

1004 am. Mostly sunny. Winds NW 20 to 30 km/h turning W/SW 15 to 20 km/h in the late afternoon then becoming light in the late evening. Daytime maximum temperatures between 18 and 21. Temp = 14.7 c, but feels like 10.7 c.

All good here this morning, wife left me a made coffee that only needed microwaving to heat up. Still uber struggling moving my contacts/data from icloud or iphone 5 to the newish iphone 8. Literally spent 8 hours on just that one task yesterday and it all failed! Even the two apple support people couldn't fix the issue, and left me with the words "see if that works overnight!" nope hasn't magically worked overnight. lol.

My impression is I will need to do the 300+ contacts manually individually! oh well.

dng , have you tried a,Telstra product , app named " device care " it works wonderfully with android ? Dont know about apple ? There is,a facility in there and it generates a thing like we do covid check ins on and you put the phones together and it is all copied to new phone . Phonebook pass,words apps etc . Is awesome . & still on old one for reference !

How are you travelling in these times . Like everyone I have good days but sometimes my sky falls in to as I imagine everyone's does.

My neighbour has just got home with a brand new soooo adorable little Maltese puppy , a wee boy named Tigga . I am going to take LD over perhaps today or tomorrow to meet him .

Am running very late again as my completely unlovable thoughtless neighbours ( not Tiggas family ) though we all had to listen to a lot of noise with accompaniment of doof doof from 10 pm till after 1 am . B our local policeman doesn't come as since ice and accusations of harassment etc there has to be two at all times and noise is not a priority . It would mean 2 from 45 km east would have to come . It took 20 min to fill online report ? We still have the universal emergency number of course but that is not an emergency which I totally get . Such is life , I liked life better when crooks had a code of conduct which also had a component of respect and thoughtfulness .

Spring is here now and although we may get a cool morning for another month it will be isolated now !

I have had surgery last week so wont be riding Sooz ( m/cycle ) for a few weeks in the loveliest riding weather we get . You get that ? We will overcome and enjoy it however we can .

Many decades ago was driving my fave truck ( 1986 SAR Kenworth ) on float work . Was on way from Grants Patch WA to Croydon gold mine North Qld . Half way from Normanton to Croydon the truck was filled with the aroma of wattle . Low scrubby wattles all around . I pulled up in a bulldust section . When dust settled got out for photo shoot . Snow white bulldust sttled to half way up the fuel tanks surrounded by wattles that were covered in vibrant yellow blooms , pale blue endless sky all bathed in the most beautiful scent of the wattles and soft bright light . mmmmm memories ❤❤❤

Hi Jo, I love that story about "Many decades ago was driving my fave truck..." beautifully written mate.

It is wonderful to have such transcendent moments, and sometimes even better to photograph it, or write about it. An action of Stopping to smell the roses, but sharing the smell with others too!
