It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

Eight , I have no idea how the red moon snuck past me ? Must of been preoccupied with the covid stuff . It was at a time that I could have stayed awake for although was quite unwell from vaccine ?

Hello dear friend Sarah , what exactly does a station leader do ? It sounds fascinating the whole Antarctic journey and all that would encompass . As you would guess I have had interest in Antarctic aviation and the mechanical challenges for machinery in the frozen environment . Fascinating xx!

So glad you can get out to work for lockdown . Seems if the numbers are going to behave it could be short lived , for that I hope for you all . Maybe the population might get cracking now and seek vaccination in a timely manner ?

On that book , please do be careful as a spade is a spade , definitely not a shovel ! There is some very raw ( very honest as the man who wrote it ) stuff in there . Only those who were there knew , and traditionally never spoke of !

LD is curled up on the foot of bed again . She stays under ( the quilt ) till she hears her dish on the bench or the fridge open then comes out to get her coat on and shakes and waits for her breaky to be ready . I chat with her and the curly tail wags appropriately to answer . Has breaky shakes again and toilets . Then gets treat ( chewy ) and finds a spot and goes back to sleep , if the tone of trike changes an ear moves and if I stop head comes up . I just say not stopping and head goes back down .

My dear friend Sarah , how is your weekend going ? I do hope if you have been trying to pack for the move that you have achieved something acceptable . I recall time when I have sat down or started to pack that I have been side tracked with things I have found and achieved little in the overall scheme of things . Happy time whatever you are doing .

Am still under the influence of the covid vaccine , just being slack to I guess . It is returning to normal I think but not quite sure yet . may be a few more days to as the ordinary flu needle knocked me a bit this year . Keep you posted .

Had some pork belly in the low oven for 20 hours and swapped it over at 0700 today for a chicken this morning . Am letting the pork sit now till tomorrow or next day and will finish it smoker and then cryovac and freeze it . You should see and smell that pork . mmmm

Will return to horizontal I think with HRS LD and enjoy the quilt . Hugs peace warmth and love for you all , Us xxxx

Well today didn't want to get up but did so and although not full power yet think we are getting there . Definitely makes me uncomfortable when not functioning fully ? Had a thought last night about these vaccines effecting me so much this year and looked at the frame from 9/12/20 . Realised just how much emotional spiritual and physical energy has been used in this small time window + the whole of 2020 which felt like a - drain , which also had a very important purpose to finally get me to the place ( 9/12/20 ) and allow that miracle to happen . ❤.

Hi Sarah , rambling a bit there . How was your weekend ? You and 1,2 + 3 all were happy and warm ? Kids share and help the getting ready to move plan ? Hope whatever you did was good and involved a muffin ( yum , have developed a muffin craving I think ). Might go muffin hunting in town next time am there ?

Had such a pleasant weekend as the mill had a weekend off and both lots of neighbours went somewhere else to terrorise those around them . Was like back to normal . Saw that Australian story again about the trans kids doctor in Melb on Saturday night and sent a very brief email to her department saying thank you for past , present and future kids . She and her people have and are freeing so many beautiful humans from the sentence of gender dysphoria . ( you guessed it , more tears . Just such a beautiful thing ) Invisible illness ( distress etc ) are so damaging . xxxx

Hello my dear friends and I don't like hearing when you are feeling off or grumpy LD.....but I am in love with your new name HRS LD...I am picturing you prancing around with a teeny tiny crown on..as you should!

The Station Leader role is essentially the person who maintains the peace and harmony of all on the station at that time. Makes sure everyone is getting along, makes sure all the roles are getting done and that the Winter or the Summer goes as it should. A good Station Leader can really make a difference to your stay my dad says, he has had a really awesome one once and said it was the best season he went. So needless to say I have been picking his brain about what was good V's what other's did that was not so good. I am so keen to go and yes, will be an experience of a lifetime, like nothing else.

I am worried about how you are feeling with the effects of the vaccine. A few of my family and friends have had it too and they have all experienced different things. I am sorry that you have been really impacted by it and that it has knocked you around a bit. How are you feeling today?

My weekend was full of packing and cleaning and I really did get some much done, I feel like I really made a dint in the whole process which is great. Helps me to take my mind off the fact that I will not be able to go to an event on Saturday that I have been planning for ages and means alot to me. I know I am not the only one impacted by yet another lockdown but just feel really sad about it.

OH my..that pork belly sounds next level amazing, how was it? I feel like I know the answer to that...UNBELIEVABLE...but just checking..lol

Yes you are so right in what 2020 brought for you, a whole new you essentially. The ability to be you, to know you and to feel and live the person you were meant to be. A huge amount to go through in a small time and you really should feel so proud of how you have navigated this as it is massive Jo...absolutely massive.

I am so happy to hear that you had a great weekend and it is always heartwrenching to see kids go through things, but things like identity and sexuality is that much more emotional. I am not surprised you were in tears watching that, I would have been too, happy tears and tears of freedom for them, and for you too.

Your friendship is so very valuable to me too and I look forward to opening up your message each day, you are divine xx

Hump day tomorrow , and only 20 more sunrises to the longest night and we claw back our daylight ! Yay for that !

Haven't heard news today so not sure of your lockdown status . Glad there was forward motion with cleaning and packing ( still some relaxant might help on the day or evening of moving day ) , when do you get keys for new house and how far is the move ?

When I was subying to Allied Pickfords we ( had one of their guys with me ) went into a station 200 north of Perth with 2 x 94 cubic mtr jumbo vans and packed everything , there were 4 more company guys there with lots of butchers paper and many assorted cartons . Started packing and loading at 0600 & finished at 2050 then set sail . 1100 km later at 2200 48 ish hrs later we arrived at desto ( Pardoo station north of Port Headland ). So much work . Furniture was actually fun ? Think it was the variety of jobs ?

Just lost our power my dear so will stop for now , lol . Power returns 0840 ! No power = no phone/net total coms blackout . Optic fibre needs power , and the emergency gen set at the tower died 5 years ago and not been replaced or batteries . Batts been dead longer than gen ! Thank heaven for the Battery wireless ! + ABC

I'm not brave , just a survivor . So passionate about helping others to avoid a lot of the road I have trodden . A lot of it was not necessary . lol to you Sarah (hugs xxx ) & 1,2&3 a d the kids . ( your dad sounds awesome to ).

Hello Sarah . Are you still going to work or doing work from home ? Hump day ! Does coffee&muffin person come during lockdown time ? Hope you are sleeping and warm at this hour with 1,2&3 nearby !

Silly time to get up ( stupidoclock )in some respects , yet personal and unhurried in other ways . Today am passing on excersise and sitting in chair with HRS tucked in on my left side in chair . Allways amazes me how little creature can just trust enormous ( to her ) creature ? I look out for her automatically but still bop , gently kick or step ( a little bit ) on her . She knows the words " away from my feet " . My change of direction is performed many more times a day as you notice it when a little friend shadows you so much .

Been thinking a out fragility a lot lately . Holistically rather than personally . We are , or life is really fragile . Didn't realise that pretty much everything or its place in the world we see and feel is fragile . Our tenure in or on ( Time and space ) our world itself is so very fragile .

Back thinking about genders to . I have thought about it a lot and found maybe 5 we could do with and how that would change society in such a good way by normalising them all . LOVE is the answer to pretty much everything . Idealistic , you bet ! Powered by dreams 👍. That's ok to !

Just had a vision of all the aliens in the space bar in "Hitchhikers Guide Movie " . Like a picture show in my head sometimes .

Got to move , pack Mr A and warm him up and open gate etc . 172 km to doctor for 0900 . Lots of roo's about so 60 to 70 kmh till just after sun rise .

Needless to say the last two days have been kinda crazy here as we planned to come out of lockdown to find out today we are here for another 7 days on top of the original 7. While I have accepted the fact that I will not be going away this weekend I just feel so flat and defeated. I am not sure exactly how, maybe the cancelation of plans for me is the first real taste I have had of being impacted by lockdown, but I just feel so over this whole virus and what it is doing to our community. I get we have to take steps to stop the spread and reduce the impact on our society but it is just brutal. People are losing jobs and businesses and mental health is just suffering badly.

I did have a smile on my face tho when I was reading about LD running around behind you, underneath you and essentially everywhere where your feet are to go, I am not surprised she gets the smallest of kicks or a scoot here or there. It is adorable though that she know "out from under my feet"..just too cute.

You are so very right in the fragility of humans and also the fragility of our emotions too. We can so easily break, and we don't always take check of this and mostly live our lives as if we have an eternity more, not really taking into account that at any moment it could end. Quite a grim thought but we are breakable and probably more so our emotions and mental state rather than our physical being. It does not take much to see it all come crashing down and that is pretty tough to know. We are human, we have feelings, we hurt and we struggle and it is hard to get back up sometimes. However we are pretty resilient too, we can learn and we can manage and we can accept and understand and together with help and with courage we can overcome hurdles.

I am off to cook duck pancakes for my kids for dinner, one of the good things about lockdown and working from home is the ability to cook better meals and take the time to prepare food. I can live without the home schooling tho..lol

Well huge hugs to you my friend and I have to disagree with what you said about not being brave, just being a survivor...I don't see it like that, you are so courageous, so open to what the future may be and have more bravery to let Jo be Jo and allow a life to flourish in a world where we are still growing to understand and accept and this is SO HUGE and SO BRAVE....you are outstanding xx

Hi Sarah , my heart goes out to you and everyone in Victoria . It is very brutal this virus in so many ways . I am seeing out here that people are so blasé as it has not impacted here much and it is like denial ? We have quite a lot of fifo workers on the CSG and the fact our situation could change like yours in the blink of an eye seems to have escaped most people here ? Not forgetting either that if it took hold out here that it could decimate these towns that have older populations .

I guess they have diced duck in them or are a side dish for the duck ? A crêpe perhaps . I like duck , turkey is nice if kept moist . Rabbit is nice to if respected in the cooking . ( I have eaten quite a few game meats ( Australian ) but only when in the middle of nowhere when doing exploration work . Only will despatch creatures if absolutely necessary ) . Love animals to much ! LD and I go out and talk to the cows on the road trains ( cow taxis ) if they stop to check things outside my house . I get quite affected in my spiritual heart sometimes . I know where they are headed sooner or later . Big wet noses and large dark inquisitive eyes . Am a hypocrite , I still eat meat ( not much but still contribute to that system ???) .

One of the Mr Gahndi's said " there will never be peace on earth while we eat our friends " !!!
