It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

0740 , OMG only been up for half an hour . Talking till late for us 2200 . OK for normal folk I guess . LD was wanting to go to bed much earlier and got very frustrated that I did not comply ?

Sarah , I am very proud of you with the silent auction 👍👍👍👍 . As have said before " Champion " ❤. If you think it may help too by raising awareness of BB and LGBT I would be extremely happy if you drew attention to this place . ( or not to . I know of at least 1 person who has been helped by our discussions . Hopefully many more ). Have a lovely dinner to . Still can see you mowing them down in rollerderby , gently of course !

Just had one of the most memorable and best weeks of my life . xxxx . Gained some new friends and much knowledge as to what's available and how we can do it in our community to ease the isolation and support diverse people .

Before I leave here today I am going to be interviewed for a YouTube channel about the meeting I attended on Tuesday night . ( Which went very well , was not sure about meeting strangers beforehand but so very glad we did the 600 km and attended ).

Catching up with old friends and meeting a friends now son was very enriching . 27 years old a d has 2 small sons . A joyous trio and it made me very warm to see the happiness they live in .

Plan on talking to BB ( always have ) when we have a more organized idea of what we might do out here .

0548 , Half way home , Laying in bed with LD under the quilt beside me in Mr A the work car . Coldish and very heavy dew , calm , clear sky .

Visiting friends here , they are working this morning here and both cars have now left to go to respective jobs . A short but pleasant evening last night . Two more allies . The list has now started to grow .

Hi dear Sarah , told a very very good friend and his wonderful wife while driving last afternoon on way here . Knew it would be all good but was way beyond good . We chatted for nearly 200 km .( straight sort of running , only to quick towns to go through ) They have not long moved back home from Victoria to WA .

You pop into my thoughts quite often and randomly to . Have a few new Avatar pics to pop on when home . Have you had a relaxing or hectic weekend so far ? Is it long weekend in Victoria ? Maybe not , we have labour day . Will be a quiet time of reflection when home , to digest the week just past . Definitely the most memorable one I can remember and possibly the best .

Thinking about trying to assemble ( or having a crack at it anyway . no rush though ) a book of maybe this journey or maybe the early trucking days ? Found a USB stick the other day made by a truck driver in the late seventies ( friend of a friend ) . Sat down and watched it . A really good archive of how it was done and what we the drivers did and were challenged with . Wish I could share that with you and your dad would enjoy it to I imagine . Things were so different then and seemed more real in some strange way .( generation gap ?)

Enough rammble , am dodging getting up now but LD is up and has other ideas .

Monday again ! Labour day here . Not sure if long weekend for you . How have you been ? How is your journey of life going ? ( have ABC country on the satellite and just had someone who sounded like Jackson Brown . Thought I had heard all his recorded stuff ? Maybe not ?).

When will you know the outcome of the BB blind auction ? I am very honoured to be your friend . hug .

Had a 4 hr discussion with my now available local ( ish , 110 km to visit ) friends and we are talking about what we may do out here . I very much want to include BB in some way . Haven't contacted them and won't till we have some direction and are starting to try to work out a structure ? Its happening slowly , would like to go a bit quicker but I am the only one with pretty much a free day most days . I can do the foot work but we need the guidance and input of my friends who are professionals in this field .

I guess you have now picked up that last week was the best one I can remember on this planet . Jo is so lucky . ( a little tear ) . How different it all is ❤ now . Getting home late yesterday was a reality check , all good though . Even Mr A was acting up coming home , starting to wonder if he knows more than I think ?

Hi to everyone here, Jo been inviting to visit for a while and just didn't have any spare time with everything that has been happening with me beginning my journey. It seems that everyone is happy with where they are right now, this is my goal to. Just going try to build a support network of people I know that I can trust to be supportive and be there when I need them the most including all of you here you all are becoming apart of my extended family.

Hi Kara , welcome to the cafe . Mostly I check here unless an ongoing thread is happening somewhere else and I keep watching it to and the other cafe in the main forum area . As you will see here that I have documented a lot of my journey since Jo was born . I talk a lot with Aaronsis ( Sarah ) and she has traveled this road with me . I think page 31 is where we started . I found the cafe stalled for quite a long time and have tried to revive it so we ( diverse and our allies ) can have a central chat room . People visit and I hope many more read here . I would be very happy if much of the material I have posted here helps you and many other folk ( specially trans as that is my experience that I write of ) . You will see the newness it was for me , and many questions I had on the way to here . 7 or 8 posts back there is a post from me that has a date in the top left hand corner , have a read of that and all , over time if you want . It is my journey but there will be parallels . There is a big difference for us in that I am a solitary human so only LD and I are affected by my journey . ( totally in a good way and I have never been so happy in all my life )

Oh my goodness..when I opened up the page today and saw your new profile pic my heart just smiled..LD you are an absolute delight and so very very gorgeous.

Well the silent auction finished Friday and we had a BBQ with a gold coin donation today, I also had a Beyond Blue bucket there so as people could donate. So all the numbers are in and we made just over $16.5K for Beyond Blue. I am so in shock and in total disbelief at the generosity of my peers. I guess there are not many people who can say that in some way they have not been exposed to the goodness that Beyond Blue do.

How exciting about your interview for the You Tube channel, and also so wonderful that people are doing things like this to get these events out into the public eye.

I am loving hearing about all the new new friends that you are making along the way on your journey. It is so wonderful that not only do you have others in your life that have also found their true gender or true identity but that you can share this with them and exchange experiences and get support and also friendship. It is so awesome.

My weekend was pretty full on with catching up with friends for a birthday dinner, followed by a breakfast with other friends the next day, a trip to a vintage market and then off to my daughters football game..then to do the groceries and some house work..gee I am exhausted from just typing that.

That is so very exciting that you told your dear friend and his wife. I am so happy that they were supportive. I think so many people are more aware of others these days, that we are not all the same and that is ok. Also that we are more accepting of others differences. I really notice it in my children who are obviously a different generation. They accept their friends that are gender fluid, or pan sexual or other gender/sexualities and there are no questions or no discussions, it is just who they are and it is so wonderful to see, we really are growing and changing and becoming more understanding, slowly...but it is happening.

I think of you often too my dear friend and wonder what exciting things you are up to, I am too very grateful for having you in my circle of friends.

I am soooo beyond happy for you that you described that week as one of your best weeks on the planet Jo.this is so wonderful to read, so beyond wonderful.

Chat some more soon to you my dear friend, and my dear little furry friend, LD I will take you on as my online puppy..lol

LD is tucked up in the chair next to me, peddling . Coffee Chai and an egg on grated Colby and bread ( chilli if desired ) salt and ground black pepper . ( need to doors a shop , tomorrow to start at new doctor so will do it then ) .xxx

What exactly is a vintage market ? Do they have clothes there at that kind of market and what other sort of stuff . Was glad to see that you prioritize correctly . ( house work last ! Ha ha ! Me to these days )( my place isn't to bad as I kind of clean up after each thing , and its only 1 + LD )

While in Bris and visiting my friends ( Ausies ) that have lived in Vientiane for ever ( stuck here , covid , cleaning house up between Tennant's ) gave me some very beautiful clothes . The taste is very similar and ------- had a dress for me . I said I had not planned on dressing in dresses and she insisted I should try it . Tried it on yesterday , how fluid life can be ? Details of the plan are often changing . Jo looks lovely in it . Blew me away that one . xxx .

The LD with my LD on my lap belongs to my new friend in the place where I attend the gender clinic . Trans lady and has a partner ( who I will meet in due course ) . That LD is as you might expect a little ( albeit incredibly cute )princess . Apparently she had me under her spell from the moment we met . I caved in immediately and did whatever she wanted , so now she is not settling for any less response from humans around her . Oops ! My little darling was not very impressed , she played with Brown one when away from me but just snuggled on one side of me while Brown one on other . I had to constantly tell her she owned me and that will never change .

Good Morning my friend

Hope that all goes well for you today at your new doctor, looking forward to hearing about that.

Well..a vintage market is as you say, a place where people have collected clothes or furniture or anything really that is old and it is so exciting to go through all the things and find something that you love. I bought a tan leather jacket that I just fell in love with and it was only $50. I also got an awesome pair of flared jeans for my daughter who has been wanting a pair for ages and while there are jeans somewhat like these in the shop, these are the real deal...they are so flared and look so awesome and were..wait for it...$19..what an absolute bargain. So we are going to head back there this weekend and I will take her with me..I feel some money will be spent.

Oh Jo..wow...a dress, how exciting and how wonderful, what a moment for you. As you mentioned you didn't really consider yourself a dress kinda girl it is so great that you did try it on, and not only that but you liked how Jo looked. I am picturing the biggest smile on your face. Life is so very fluid and you just don't know what is around the next corner, I am so excited for you. You might love a vintage market too....oh the clothes!!!

Ohh LD you sweet little thing, I can see her being all cuddly at the thought of there being some competition for your love. But seriously..as if anyone could take your place you gorgeous little creature. I laughed when you said you had to reassure her that she was the boss and that she called the shots and she indeed owned you...never a truer word spoken..lol

It is pretty cool here today and has rained for the past two days, starting to get those winter feels. The heater has been going and the house looks like a wash house with laundry drying everywhere..lol

Tonight my friend is coming for dinner, she is so creative and is an amazing artist. She has actually painted a small canvas of my daughter to give to her. Last week my daughter asked her if she could paint a picture of her, I think she has forgotten about it and my friend is going to surprise her with it..I can't wait to see her face.

Another busy day here in the office so off I go to order my Chai...my daily cup of happiness, and here talking to you is my daily house of happiness, like a room, where we sit and chat and LD runs around all excited to see a new face...haha..that is sometimes how I see it.

Hi Sarah , how did your daughter like the portrait ? How was dinner?

Am having trouble thinking clearly this morning . Was woken at 0200 by a voice yelling on my verge to someone who was catching the eastbound bus . It was my completely disrespectful neighbour on the east side ( bus stop is on the west side ) . In short those folk and opposite have no self-respect and the price for me and the old lady on the east side of the yucky neighbours have seen a huge dive in our quality of life . These are ice people who are totally self absorbed . Have contacted council and police and owner of house next door but political correctness doesn't really allow any action . It all boils down to the owner of the timber mill . Wont start on him . He got the mill when it went broke ( totally self and in general respect less human ) and for 2 years had visa workers who were beautiful respectful mindful nice people and life was fine . He grossly underpaid them and they told the govt people who promptly removed them and wont let him have any more .

Apologies dear Sarah , clearly this bothers me , moving is not an option unless it comes with work . ( I couldn't sell to anyone without telling them so stuck really ) A little sad that last week was so wonderful and back to this s--t . However it in no way detracts from last week . Hardens the resolve to try to find acceptable alternative ?

Apologies for the rant . Doctor at 1040 today . Mr A was naughty on way home so got to get sizing for new bit in exhaust in morning on way to doctor (190 km each way now ).

LD is on strike again and we were going shopping today but, tomorrow's job is going to begin today around lunch time . Consequently the cupboard is low . Coffee and chai plus poached egg on bread with grated Colby and condiments ? Will rectify the the food situation on Saturday on way home ? xxx

Hi Sarah , apologies for yesterday's rant and do hope no offence was felt . It is very rare and the continual disrespectful behavior of these folk got to me ?

I want to go to a vintage market , sounds just so appealing xx . One more day to Muffin day . I might be able to get a Muffin where my part of job finishes tomorrow ? Had a beautiful butter croissant in Brisbane last week .

Doctor yesterday , you wont believe it but it was just so wonderful , Flowed like a fresh mountain stream . This world is full of hidden treasures . Another kind caring affirming practice staffed by angels ! How good is that !

LD is like a little ball under a huge knitted blue jumper of mine in the chair next to me .

Had the ordinary flu jab yesterday and ended up in bed before 1900. Was going to sleep in today and shop to be ready for job on Friday ?
