It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

Hi Sarah , not a lot of news . Getting a bit fatigued , tried another medication I got from doctor Tuesday week ago . Gone back to how we were today . Has been interfering with sleep . Not been getting the 4 hr block I need . Should fix it I think , getting stronger patches tomorrow . lol .

Hi Sarah , happy warm safe day as,always for you .x Stopped the blockers yesterday and had a short but good sleep last night . All good as was going well without them and will talk to doctor today . Am going up from 50 to 100 tonight on the patches so look forward to a little increase in pace now . Blockers were radical , one side effect was hot flushes . Yuk ! Upset sleep a lot to , was going down fatigue road ( a place I dare not go ) . Happy warm day very dear friend . Hugs and xxxx . Had a few more emails from NZ to . That's Awesome . Rang a trans man who organises a group in Bris . He started transition in a country city and has many contacts , he gets the isolation . Was a really good chat . Thanks Sarah , huggle !

Hey Jo and hello my little friend LD, that is so cute that you are the boss of the kitchen and incharge of what there is to eat..melts my heart...lol

I have been hanging out with the kids this week so quiet from me, so sorry about that but there is less hours in the day that I need sometimes...sometimes more...lol

You have been up to so much and with emails to NZ and conversations with others around how their trans journey went for them, that is so wonderful that you have these contacts and to be able to share how things are for you and to know that what you are going through in "normal" and to be expected. That is interesting around the hot flushes with the meds...I assume hormonal things like what women go through with menopause or the likes...very interesting indeed.

Hope that your sleep starts to improve for you, there is nothing worse than sleep deprivation and not getting what you need to be able to make it through the day. I hope that the Doctor's appointment today could shine some light on that for you and give you some direction if it is related to the medication or not....I hope that you can get that sorted.

Well off to start the weekend and more running around as mum's taxi....I am happy that they are out and doing things with friends but it is exhausting running them around or having them call late and things like that...ahh well I would not have it any other way really...well actually I would..it would be nice if they wanted to hang out with me...lol..too old and daggy these days...

Do you have anything that you are getting up to over the weekend? I think the weather here is taking a slide into the wet and miserable but I guess that is to be expected as we say farewell to the warmer months. I really enjoy having my washing dry outside and the smell of bedsheets as they have been air dried...ahh I really am getting old aren't i....hahahaha

Hi Sarah ( hugs , miss you when your busy . All good though as we know what busy is like .) Am fairly certain that the kids version of daggy is not ours ? Mums taxi , never had one ( its such a great honor and affirmation of love ! Good on you ! X )

Talking to doctor on the phone yesterday was good . A great communicator . Another one of the very special rainbow community who cares . Just wanted to run by him my thoughts on the blockers and could I double up on patches etc to adjust dose . My plan was correct . Couldn't get 100 till after the 17th of April still have 50s .

Enough about me . The pic of LD I put up am yesterday was to dark and so I took another early yesterday and that's up there now . she is curled up in the chair next to me while I ride . ( looking at the horror head now ) Prince Phillip died overnight ( for us ) . Have tears. Not a royalist but he and the queen have been there all my life . Mum and dads generation loved the royals as I think they were like a cohesive power after WW2 ?

Enjoy ( as I am sure you do ) the kids and just sharing time with each other . Look forward to some more stories if you want some time . I go on the BB Cafe daily to , recanted a lovely memory there yesterday , you might like that one dear friend . And a recipe for Pacific Bread . yum . many hugs cuddles and some xx xx

Hello my friend

Oh wow.... Storm Boy.. Mr Percival.... oh wow.... yes I would have tears all the way through too. What a beautiful film and yes so very very emotional, so many themes that the engage you with.

I am noticing your choice of fish sauce on your eggs.. that is very interesting... I am not sure if I would choose that but I guess the salty works with the eggs and the chilli... something new for me to try.

The weather here today is totally fierce... thunder lightning and hail and pouring rain... I didn’t realise we were expecting this.. and it is freezing cold too... so wintery.

Monopoly has featured in our house this week and has been a real test for me... not a game I enjoy much but my daughter is loving it so I am enjoying the time one on one with her and managing the feelings of the game... lol...

Quiet day for us I think.. lamb in the slow cooker for some wraps with Tzasiki and lettuce for dinner... winter food.. yum.

Hi again, twice in one day ?

What is Tzasiki ? Had forgotten how emotional Storm Boy was .

Dinner is left over from last night . Diced chicken breast with baked then fried chat potatoes fried in rice bran oil with sugar sumac cumin and chili flakes on angel hair spaghetti short cut with cracked black pepper done in tumeric water . And the obligatory fish sauce .

Just caught up with trans lady ( on phone ) in the place where gender clinic is . Her and her partner are involved with a group ( forgotten name already ) and are doing you tube interviews for them . We chatted for ever and they asked if I would do an interview with them . Said yes and they will come out for a trip and stay and do it here . Will discuss it a bit more though I think .

Hi Sarah , just been looking at data for WA cyclone . It went from Northwest to Southeast straight over Geraldton and at 0300 est it would be very close ( within 50km ) of a little village in the wheat belt where a very good friend and truck driving mentor of mine lives . ( will call when it is sensibleo'clock ).we have been friends since 1976 , used to travel together when we could in the old days when the job was very different from today . Every day had unique challenges and at days end you felt achievement . There was nearly always a minimum of 4 hrs good sleep somewhere through the night . That doesn't sound like much but I think you get used to patterns and they will sustain for many years .

I recall one full moon night west of Woodina in SA on my way back to WA . Was in a cabover Kenworth with a fridge van on and had a,few to many kilos in it . An eastbound told me the scaley ones weren't to far behind him . The old road runs parallel to the current one . Pretty easy to get across to it .I did that and pulled up in a thicket of trees . Nothing came . Was very tired ( summer time and no a/c ) and sat in the bunk on sheep skin and as I lay down on .my back could feel the body shut down as it touched the mattress . Didn't wake till 6 am , though that might be a disaster for me but it worked OK . ( memories from the 80's)

Hello my friends, I adore you both and love hearing about LD as boss of the kitchen, it really makes my heart melt.

Tzatsiki is usually found in greek dishes and is the yoghurt based sauce with cucumber and garlic in it. I am sure you would have had it, I think that the way I spelt it previously may have caused confusion. It is so delicious and a really refreshing part of the wrap as I find lamb quite rich.

That is so awesome to hear that you are making contact with more and more trans people and getting the connections and support you need in this space. I am so very excited for you at the thought of doing an interview, how wonderful that you can share this journey you are on..as much as you want to that is..no pressure...and that it may help another in their journey as well as bring light and love to the path you have travelled. The fact also you can do it in your home and in your space will make it more comfortable for you too so that is brilliant that they will come to you..I am so excited to hear all about this and how you are feeling about it too.

I think it is wonderful to hear about the km's that you have travelled and the exciting journeys you have done and the people you have met. You have enough for a book I feel and a very moving one too. The way you describe places you have seen or roads that have been driven, the weather and how the stories unfold is like I am actually there. I so enjoy hearing about them all.

I have had a really lovely week with the kids and yes, lots of memories, even though some of them are not so fun for me, as long as they are fun for the kids that is all I care about..as they say..it is not about the game but who is playing and the moments that you are sharing....I dare not cheat as my daughter would have me be accountable for every dollar, every property and every roll of the dice.....she is a stickler for the rules and would have us all be accountable to her...hahahaha

The sun has poked its head out a few times today and that is lovely but all in all the weather this week is starting to show signs of winter....I am not adverse to it but just miss that warm sun on my skin and the feeling of a hug it gives.

How is the day for you Jo? and for you too my gorgeous little fluff...yes I called you mine LD..I am adopting you via this forum...lol...

Hi Sarah , I must thank you again for your immense kindness love and perception to essentially a stranger on a screen . Your company has made my very isolated journey almost struggle free and with many happy memories containing our chats . 👍❤

As have said before am writing stuff in a book about my days in this new wonderful life we ( T&Jo) have been blessed with . The project now is stick to the plan ( which Jo brought with her ) and celebrate each and every day while helping anyone I can on the way . Enough of that now ( thank you very very much )

Tzatsiki , I think I have had it and something very similar with curry to but that one had finely chopped mint in it . Do you think your daughter will be an accountant ? Could be handy one day . Have you ever watched Ice Road truckers on TV or Alaska's Ultimate Bush Pilots , they operate Dehaviland Beaver aircraft ( 50 or so years old ) as Island Air on Kodiak Island on the West Coast of Canada . Our Toll Air Freight aircraft that overflies us every morning around 0730 is 48 years old . A young lass named Vanessa used to fly it , maybe she still does ? ( I hang out at little cafe at airport when I need to spend a few hours in that town . Friends now with the owner who has the aircraft fueling business there .)( Nice manicured green grass for LD to ).

Both those shows are ones you can almost enter the screen and join in . They both contain colourful characters and so well done your almost one of the family ?

Anymore driving lessons yet ? Will put LD pic up soon of LD in winter mode in chair beside me . Only top of head with the ears showing . Wrapped in knitted jumper . Cold now , not winter yet but getting there .
