The Transcendent Rainbow Cafe - social space for LGBTI members

It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

We just need a name 🙂

hI EVERYONE! 🙂

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am 23, female and im about 98% sure i'm Bi.

I also wanted to share with everyone the amazing wedding i went to a couple of weekends ago. My partners mother has just been married to the Man (trans) of her dreams. It was so nice to be surrounded with all the love and happiness especially with Gay marriage being legal now!!

anyway they both looked amazing, and we had a blast and to be honest its the happiest i had been in months so yay!

anyway thats all i had to share xx

Hi and welcome Teal and Evole; (Shout-outs to SN and MsP too!)

Firstly, yes my avatar's a pic I took of my dining table's pho-flowers. I love them and is incidentally the only avatar I've had which is from my life; real. The rest have been images of fictional characters or scenes.

It's indicative of how my life's evolved from disconnected to grounded and able to cope with being me. 🙂

Teal, it's wonderful to know people are being joined in matrimony with grace and acknowledgement from our political and legal communities. Your mum-in-law's wedding sounds beautiful and is a reflection of how new laws are affecting lives for the better. (Theirs and loved one's who watch on with hope for their future like anyone else)

Lovely to meet you too; thanks for introducing yourself. Please feel free to join our forum community to chat, purge or find info.

This goes for you too Evole. 🙂

Warm thoughts;

Hi Sez

thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Andrew, be turning 60 this year and have been an out, proud and (sometimes) loud gay man for 40 years (another big anniversary this year). I'm looking forward to sharing in these forum when I can about my journey, both with being gay and with my mental health challenges.

cheers

A

HI AndyR

Wow 40 years out and proud. Congrats on being your true self. I finally accepted myself around 3 years ago and my family has known for over a year now 🙂

I am glad I have opened up and accepted myself. As a bi person some people may not understand the need to come out. But I couldn't love myself if I couldn't accept myself fully.

Look forward to hearing more from you

MsP

Hi Starting New

Newish here. Am well, thanks for asking.

Exciting News on two fronts

My 23 year old nephew came out to me, making me a really gay uncle in my family!

I went to an LGBTI Elder's Dance and danced with a handsome man to the Tennesee waltz. Then plucked up the courage to ask him on a date. He said yes. First time in over a decade I've been so bold. We've had the date. Its another step in my recovery from the chronic anxiety/depression that has held me for over a decade.

At nearly 60 it felt nice to be almost teenage like again.

cheers

Andy

What a brilliant post Andy!!

I'm smiling from ear to ear my friend. How lovely to dance with a prospective partner at 60 and feel like a teen again. And...a waltz no doubt. Ha!

At 58 I don't see much action I'm afraid. Though it doesn't worry me too much if I'm honest.

Sigh...it's lovely to read comments like this. I'm cheering for you on both levels Andy; on the mend and a revamp of your teens! 🙂 Well done and congratulations.

Heartfelt hug..

HI Sez

thanks for responding.

That my post had you smiling ear to ear made me smile ear to ear as well.

What is even lovelier is you're cheering from the sidelines makes me feel supported and cared for as I take these steps -a cheer-squad... it makes me feel great that even though we've met only here I can tell my mind someone is cheering me on. That is so incredible. Thank you.
