The Transcendent Rainbow Cafe - social space for LGBTI members

It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

We just need a name 🙂

Hi everyone,

The Sexuality & Gender Identity section on the forums has been re-opened.  Please feel free to post in that section with any issues relating to sexuality and gender identity, including any topics relating to the marriage equality postal vote.

This thread will remain in the BB Social Zone as a chillout space in the manner of the BB Cafe, which is a 'respite' area from discussing heavier topics.

I'm confused

thanks ms P

so none active jsut means - not looking for a relationship or single...?

Raynor and SN if you go to the forums table there are three top tabs 'forums' 'new posts' 'your threads'. Under forums they have re-opened a section for LGBT+ people and it is called sexuality and gender identity. They closed it around 10 months ago due to not many people having specific LGBT+ matters, but I'm guessing they re-opened it due to the postal vote

I am sending you all hugs regarding this vote. I obviously ticked yes. I am avoiding the tv adds (will change the chanel if they come up) and areas of social media. We will get through this together. If you feel you need time out of the forums please do so. If you want to talk to someone specialising in LGBT+ there is a website called QLife. They have an online chat as well as a phone number to call. Copy the link for more info https://qlife.org.au/

and SN I think that's what it means, but as I don't identify as such I can't say it with absolute certainty

I don't have many clients tomorrow but so much paperwork to do. Bit stressful. I have been avoiding it due to stress

Thanks MsP, Glad to be here.

I understand that now is quite a trying time for us in the community and the atmosphere is so tense, hard and unrelenting. As Sophie_M indicated, this is more for a chill space, what do you think about making things lighter? And I really agree with MsP's suggestion to take some time out and care for yourself; the other threads on BB forums can be quite heavy and some can remind others of unpleasant things.

So... wrecking my brains for light topics.... because we are about love and for love here, what are the love stories that inspire? Movies? Books? Comics?

OK, thanks MP. Well, I don't want to talk about the survey - I'm trying to ignore it - so I guess I'll stay here and try to think of something uplifting to say.

Ok...well...speaking of love, (thanks Cleews) um, maybe not love, but attraction.

I find beauty holistic. I worked in a bar in my 20's and a stunning tall brunette (young) woman walked up to order a drink. I couldn't take my eyes off her model-like features.

I smiled at her trying to disguise drool gathering on each edge of my mouth. Licking my lips and taking a breath, I then asked; "What can I do for you?"

She gave a puzzled look and turned to her girlfriends saying with gum churning around in her potty mouth; "Will you f'n shut the f up so I can f'n order. What do you f'n want bitch?"

Her words made my teeth grind. What an ugly 'girl'.

I know there are people who might find her communication irrelevant when on the prowl, but for me, no amount of striking blue eyes, high cheek bones or legs that go on forever will blind me to a character flaw like that.

What say you?

i'm with you sez 110% ugh

As a foul mouthed leggy brunette with high cheekbones and blue eyes I object. It’s not my fault I’m beautiful and don’t have to bother with manners or grammar. The Swan xxx
