The Transcendent Rainbow Cafe - social space for LGBTI members

It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

We just need a name 🙂

Ahhh now Mrs Dools,

What there was is enough. I think it is like the tradition in Japan of eating until 80% full - there is all the enjoyment and none of the regretful consequences at the end. There was never confusion, not really, I can be a bit slow to catch on sometimes and certainly was in 1999.

Hope you are enjoying the toast and trifle.

Rob.

Hi Rob,

I really like your comment "What there was is enough". To think about those words and put them into context regarding some moments in my life, helps immensely.

Not all of what I wrote above was aimed at just the story you had shared, but at some personal happenings that could have taken me on a totally different life journey.

Like you wrote, "what there was is enough".

Thanks so much for that.

kindest regards from Mrs. Dools

That is interesting, I think there are those stories that capture the moments where there was a fork in the road. They seem to be the ones I remember. Have you read those Mitch Albom books, Tuesdays with Morrie, For one more day, and there were a few more?

Hi Rob,

I have not heard of the author you mentioned. Next time I am in our library I will see if they have one of his books or can get one in.

Regrets really aren't worth it are they! Ha. Ha. Even regretting the fact that my husband tossed out the fruit cake I had left on the bench as he thought is was rubbish, is not worth fretting over.

The food here at this café is so much better anyway...especially so as it all contains no calories what so ever!

My new medication is helping me stack on the kilos so I need to encourage myself to get out and walk more.

At least it is no longer over 35 degrees here, so no excuses really!

Hi Everyone here in the café, wishing you all a very Happy Easter.

So do any of you have any favourite types of eggs you enjoy for Easter? It isn't quite the same now that you can buy Easter eggs and hot cross buns right after Christmas!

Guess the shops will have their Christmas stuff out soon!

I have to work on Monday, other wise my weekend will be mainly at home.

Cheers all from Dools

Hi Paul,

Thanks. One of my dear elderly clients gave me a box of chocolates for Easter. The dear lady tells me that she loves me and wishes she could take me with her when she has to move into a home for the elderly, which may be soon. She will be moving about 100 kilometres away, so I will miss her and will try to see her now and then.

My weekend is going well so far. We had some delicious hot cross buns after Church this morning. There were a few left over, so the lady in charge gave them to me for the chooks! So even the hens get to celebrate Easter!

Hope you have a great weekend.

From Mrs. Dools

Hi, any one home?

Just wondering if anyone is in the café or has it closed down for the Easter weekend like a lot of Cafe's in my region!

Hi Mrs Dools,

I think we did have a bit of a hiatus over the break. I went into hiding as I wasn't feeling too crash hot. Perhaps we should put some music on and get the word out that the unnamed transcendent rainbow cafe is open for the business!

Now. What music shall we put on... Let's see. There are some LP's here...

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry to read you have not been feeling too flash lately. Hope this week is better for you!

LPs. I remember those. My Mum used to like James Last, Nana Mouskouri, (not sure of the spelling) The Carpenters, and so many other old timers I have forgotten their names. I am sure she still has all the records in the same cupboard at home!

How about some Eagles to kick off with and see what happens with that.

Cheers from Mrs. Dools
