The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hello Everyone!
Paul you have just made me hungry even though I just ate my lunch 😂 I hope everyone in Victoria is doing ok in the wild weather.
Grandy, I loved jumping in puddles and roadside gutters as a kid too. On rainy days my goal seemed to be to get as wet as possible on my way home from school.
Sbella, I seem to love both rainy and sunny weather. I think it’s connected with my love of photography because all weather conditions offer photographic opportunities. When it is raining there are reflective puddles and often hard surfaces become reflective in urban environments which can create wonderful effects, even more so at night. Also, scenes can look lovely in the falling rain. I have a photo of a New Holland Honeyeater in the rain. But of course sunny days are beautiful and can feel like a gift when they’ve been absent for a while.
Take care everyone 🤗

Hey Hey Eagle Ray and everyone!
Thankyou ER 👍....I actually started getting hungry when I I wrote about Subway and Kentucky Fried Chicken!
Note: KFC were one of the first big company's to cease using palm oil...Smart move!
I hope everyone is doing as well as they can
my kind thoughts always

Hey Paul and everyone!
That’s good to know about KFC Paul. I always feel better when I know a company does good things ethically. I do check products for palm oil as it’s used in so many things.
I hope everyone is doing well too 🤗🙏

Hello Everyone,
Hi Paul…I didn’t know about Palm Oil until I looked it up…thank you for letting us all know about the change…I’ll definitely dig into that crate of KFC and Subway…but I can’t guarantee that I won’t sample just about everything first…My favourite KFC is the Wicked Wings in a 3 piece meal…..also there regular chicken, mashed potatoes and wraps….come to think of it, it’s all yummy…Imagine a job as food tester, how awesome would that be…especially for the yummiest of foods ever….
My grandmother used to make the best meatloaf…something I haven’t tried making but so do want to….leftover meatloaf on a sandwich which be so nice for lunch at work….problem is food is so expensive and I’m afraid I won’t do it right…ah but I can dream….The food for me, tasted a lot better when my grandma or mum made it….I think if I remember they used to use beef dripping…or maybe because I didn’t have to cook it😂..
I did make some apple and cinnamon muffins, I’ve brought them in…so nice warmed up with a cup of your favourite beverage….also I cooked a macaroni, cheese, tomato and bacon bake….I’m having some for dinner tonight, freezing a couple of nights for another time and I also brought some in for mac n cheese lovers….I’ll sit in the undercover pagola for dinner tonight, here in the cafe, turn all the lights out and look at the awesomeness of the stars….we can all look at them together….if anyone feels to to…
Its a beautiful day here today, sun is shining, flowers are blooming…my purple daisy bush look amazing…
Hoping everyone has the best day they can today….
Love, care and hugs 🩷🦋🤗..

Hello Grandy.....reading your delicious post about what you've been cooking made me hungry. I wasn't a bad cook once either and loved some of your kind of food too...why don't I cook any more? I don't know. My partner died a few years ago as you probably read on here once.....so have no one to cook for, no kids at home etc. I love eating and good food and I am not too bad at making it...but can't be bothered. What's the point? A lot of time, dirty cooking utensils all over the kitchen, buying ingredients.....when I can just get a frozen ready made one in a plastic wrapped box in the freezer section and stack them in the fridge? Sad hey? Pathetic Moonstruck.....you know you love cooking, even used to have friends over and go to a lot of trouble and enjoyed doing it. I'd be scared now that my food "wouldn't be good enough".....I would even be nervous cooking for you and you're such a nice non-judgmental person. Easier to drop into the Cafe and eat someone else's cooking.....selfish hey? At least I can buy something and bring that along.....Yep I miss cooking...

Hello everyone…..🤗,
Moon, after my husband passed away, I also started my journey of living alone…I did mostly buy the frozen ready made foods, in fact I still do buy them at times…They are not that healthy to eat each day, so I decided that on Friday or Saturday nights I would cook something special I like to eat…if it’s things like pasta, curries, casseroles, pasta bakes, soups etc…I will make enough so I can freeze a few nights of meals for other days….
I just bought me a new air fryer, my old one lasted 6 years..this is a better one with a window and a door that opens like a normal oven….Last week I bought a pork roast…then I sliced it in to some steaks (I got 6 meals out of the one roast)…go me!…and they are really nice cooked in the air fryer with a potato, carrot, zucchini and a large mushroom….No cooking involved, just throw them in together neatly and let the air fryer do the rest….
I’m sorry sweet moon you don’t cook much for yourself, your not pathetic one bit sweetheart …your doing the best you can….and that is all we can ever do…your cooking skills never leave you…in time I’m sure you’ll find that wonderful cook inside of you and start cooking some meals again for yourself…..What I didn’t tell anyone is that I burnt my pasta, cheese, tomato and bacon bake pretty badly, it was the cheese on top that burnt….instead of a nice shade of light brown…it was a very dark brown😂…angry at myself at first, still expecting a barrage of nasty words (triggers)….which I actually said to myself, this time….I just laughed it off and ate it…burnt cheese wasn’t so bad after all😂…still have 2 lots frozen for another night…
I went grocery shopping on Thursday and just had to buy me a wicked wing 3 piece meal…I couldn’t get out of mind how it tasted virtually here at the cafe….so I just had to buy it for real, on my way home I parked at an area where it overlooks a very beautiful valley and mountains in the background ….I sat their while enjoying the view and had my KFC dinner…
Please moon, why not give yourself a small challenge, and cook up something nice for yourself, you’re a beautiful and strong woman…I have faith in you that one day, you will start to cook again…after all you said you do love good food….The point dear Moon is that caring for yourself is paramount to anything else…simply because you deserve to be cared for, even if it’s from you….for yourself and you’re beautiful family…
It is cold here today….any warm comfort food in our BB cafes freezer or cooking on the oven?…..I could do with something to warm my cold self…I have some sausage rolls I cooked earlier….(virtually, that is)…I have drop them all into the cafe’s oven to keep warm, any variety you want…I love cheese and spinach the best…
I hope you all get to enjoy today the best you can..🌈🦋🩷..

Thanks Grandy.......and I have still not summoned up the courage to eat out alone, even a snack during the day, let alone dinner at night in a restaurant!! I walk past cafes, sushi trains, new eateries I'd like to try...would be a nice peaceful evening in pleasant decor, sampling their menu, being able to recommend to friends (or not) or just some take away eaten on park bench & table overlooking the ocean...I imagine people saying"oh poor thing, she has to eat alone, mustn't have any friends, how lonely she looks, oh that's right, her man died few years ago, hate to see old ladies eating alone like that...she must be desperate..." Thats why the BB Cafe is perfect for me. even if I am alone eating there, I am never alone or pitied. I had better come in soon folks, I am so HUNGRY!!

Hello everyone,
Moon, I have never ate alone at a restaurant, food hall, or anywhere public…I just can’t do it…I think it’s because people might judge me being alone plus my anxiety would go overboard with me….
My best r/l friend is always going to the club or restaurants on her own and says she enjoys it…I’ve been a few times with her but I’m just to uncomfortable….I am not a fan of take away and might have KFC once a year, if that!…..I prefer to cook my own…don’t know how many hands has touched the food while being cooked…..or how long it’s been sitting around…
I like here the best…any food imaginable and completely calorie free….I have tried homemade sushi once…many many years ago when a co-worker made some and brought it in to our company’s Christmas Party…I did like it, never tried it since….Where I live now, I have to travel 28kilometres to the nearest take away, by the time I get home it’s cold and soggy…I do like battered fish and the old fashioned battered potato scallops…Haven’t had them for years though….
We can’t get better then BB Cafe…amazing friends, the best juke box music, great conversation, plenty of different areas to sit it….and the food people offer here is second to none…a beautiful peaceful place to sit around and enjoy everything about it….Oh and our Steam Train rides are a great way to see everything the Cafe’s outdoor area has to offer. ..our imagination is the only limit…
I taught my sons to cook as they were growing up…now the tables are turned and they are teaching me…I so much want to make a meatloaf, never made one before, my youngest son said he will teach me when I visit him at the end of September…😁..can’t wait to learn how to…love it on sandwiches…
The weather is getting warmer now, salads are my go to….oh and ice cream of course😁….I bought lots of different ice cream in to the cafe….my favourite, although I have many favourites, it’s hard to choose…..umm I would say Maxi Bon….
What’s everyone’s favourite ice cream?…
Hope you all sleep well tonight and dream peaceful dreams..
Love and hugs everyone..🩷🤗.
