The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

Hi Happy Saturday Everyone,

Quick question, does anyone know where socks go to hide?

I am fastidious about washing pairs of socks together, drying them together and immediately rolling them up together. I still have pairs of my son’s high school socks ten years on from them graduating from high school. They are very expensive and I made sure none were lost in the wash.

Today I am washing towels and my machine holds about 8 good sized towels. But husband to my annoyance decides to pause the wash to add 1 sock! Not a pair of socks but 1 single sock! Why!? 

Who else has this problem? My brain hurts! Ahhhh Fiatlux 🤯🤪🙏🏼 serenity now…

Its been a while since I treated myself to a visit to this awesome cafe….

Socks, I do believe that a tiny gremlin lives in the washing machine and devours one of each pair of socks…kinda like taste testing😂…sometimes they’ll  hide in drawers, laundry hampers and even the clothes dryer….mischievous little creature they are…🥷

The nights are getting really cold in my beautiful part of the world, down to low single figures and often a minus…frosty mornings that look picturesque with a thin layer of ice over the grass and the air feeling so cold and fresh when I breathe it….makes my nose drip  👃 💧😂😂…maybe I should knit a nose muff to keep it warm….how funny would that look, walking around with that on…

I’m in the pizza mood tonight…no pizza shop will deliver out my way…in fact no take away delivers out my way…Best solution is I’ll make one myself….my topping will be, tomato sauce base, cheese, pepperoni salami, a few chillies, lots of black olives, bit of capsicum and onion, more cheese, a few tomato slices throw it in the oven until the top is slightly burnt….then sit back and eat it…..

I bought in plenty of pizza bases, and any ingredient you can think of, when and if you feel like pizza, everything’s ready for your masterpiece….

The sock problem is so true!! I swear I count the socks before and after I put them in the wash and STILL manage to lose one out of the pair. I wonder where his other sock went, Fiatlux! Maybe he decided only one needed a wash 🤣

The nights are also cold here too, so socks (preferably in their pairs) are a necessity at night-times for me. And an oodie, that's my favourite item at the moment.

I love pizza! Ham and mozzarella cheese for me please, with some basil and a sprinkling of parmesan.

Hello Everyone,

Ok I've wandered into the cafe looking for hard boiled eggs done right.....   because after more years than I care to admit of having perfectly peeled hard boiled eggs for some reason it ain't working anymore.  2024 has been a disaster when it comes to me peeling hard boiled eggs or even getting the cooking of them right.  HELP!!  I don't know why it is going wrong.... mind you I am tempted to blame the chickens that laid them as it can't possibly be the cook.... can it.

Hey there! The BB Cafe exists within this thread, it's essentially a place to relax and destress, if you're feeling a little overwhelmed by other threads with heavier topics.

Paw Prints, I can't say I've ever tried to make boiled eggs... but I'm sure there are lots of YouTube tutorials (or even Tik Tok videos, if you've got it) to help you out. I'm only really good at making fried eggs, I like to think I can do those quite well!

I like hard boiled eggs but more of a fan of soft boiled eggs with toast soldiers to dip into the  yellow runny mess 😂….Paws I usually use an egg timer for cooking my eggs…the old time one with sand in it….but their is a new egg timer out…it’s egg shaped and you drop it in the water with your egg…it turns a deeper colour for each degree of cooking and you can read on it, where your egg’s cooking time ..ie coddled, soft or hard boiled….I also have one of those I bought mine online…maybe google “egg timers” ..

Being a public holiday today…I made some pancakes, I don’t make them much because I can be messy while cooking them…..and the stove top, gets messy too….then while eating them, the honey I drizzle on top falls all over my fingers😂😂😂😂..wouldn’t want to go to a restaurant and order pancakes with me…..I brought heaps into the cafe….enjoy…

I checked the cafe’s lake and it’s iced over….anyone for ice skating ⛸️….I can’t skate ….I spend more time sitting on the ice trying to stand up again to skate….would be nice if ice wasn’t slippery 😂….

Hi Paws, sorry, can't help with the eggs. I don't eat boiled eggs. I thought you just boiled the bejesus out off them, then peeled them? Apparently not.

Hi Grandy, I'd love to come ice-skating. I tried it once when I was about 7 years old for a kid's birthday party, and was pretty rubbish. I'm sure I'd be much better now 40 years later, wouldn't I????
