Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

Really, EM, those blue spots I see on the ends of your toes is a polish? I thought it was something really boring like you were in the process of learning to balance blueberries on them, so, no, I took no notice. Now I know, please can I have a closer look at the artist's skill?

& EM & everyone, I am not going to let any of you tempt me away from my muesli & fruit! If I know how to do anything, I know how to be stubborn - & if that's what I need to do to stick to my goals, then that's what it takes! So, call me a 'Stubby LRC' all you like - I'm soaking up all that being stubborn means to me, & amplifying it. It means more than being determined. It means I have made a decision, which I have set in concrete. NO shifting me now.

Em I love your sparkly blue toes... do your finger tips match?

It is 22 deg in my house... far too hot for Paws... so I've come down to the bb cafe to catch a cool breeze in the garden there... I've put some homemade iced lemonade in the fridge... out of reach of pesky penguins... & set up some comfy chairs next to the pond... the fairy lights here act as bug deterrents so no mozzies or moths to bother us... now what's for dinner?... hmmm will have to ponder that one

Those 'pesky' penguins have caught an abundance of fish, so, unless you want it rotting out here next to the pond, please let them rummage in the fridge, in order to create some room in there to keep he the any fish we don't eat tonight..? Don't fret about your lemonade - the way they fish does not make penguins thirsty.

I can only hope no-one minds the beak marks & the claw marks from when I was helping.

Yuuhmmm good oily fishies. [LRC closes eyes & finds bliss] I'll have mine sashimi style.

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Monday,

I had a very warm and productive weekend. Did some more planting in the garden. The snails are eating everything this year. The soil is a bit water logged from all the rain. The mulch is doing it's job. I haven't had to water anything for quite some time. I did clear out the pond to remove any mosquito larva. The mosquitos are going to be a real problem this summer, but I finally have some bees on the flowers. 

I attempted to make scotch eggs yesterday. They were o.k. considering I have never made them before. The eggs are a little harder than I like them, but edible. We had them for an earlier dinner with salad. The leftovers are for lunch today. 

Enjoy the sunshine, avoid the hay fever and sun burn and have a great week!

Hello OTR, Fialux, & all.

There's still plenty of lemonade. When the penguins were putting away the fish, I made sure they kept the lemonade, at least... not sure what's happened to everything else.

I suspect the eggs are all boiled, not too hard, ready for being made into Scotch Eggs - not on my diet, but I did keep aside a couple to go with my salad.

I'm sorry I won't be trying to make Scotch Eggs anythme soon. They do look nice in the picture I saw. I'd try not boiling the eggs to hard, but take them off the stove earlier - you would have to experiement, because you need them hard enough to be able to peel the eggs before wrapping in the sausage & crumb. I think it would be difficult to get them just right.

It is another lovely day outside. Just a bit noisy with work being done upstairs.

I'm happy going out today, but not too far.

Hello Everyone……🤗..

mmm…lemonade with a blob of vanilla ice cream sounds really good right now…

As most of you know I live in the central west of NSW….well away from from any beaches…although we do have a Dam close to mine…..anyway…On my way driving home, typical country road, no gutters etc….driving careful trying to find any smooth surface to drive on….I drove past a fish….laying in the middle of the road…obviously poor fishy has passed over the fish waterfall to a better place…but I couldn’t believe my eyes and a few metres further on…it just struck me as so funny…. (A fish in the middle of a country road)….that I giggled most of the way home…..Maybe the fishy swam under the earth and came up through a pot hole….😂😂😂….I just wanted to share this with you, somet something so unusual can turn a bad day into a good day….

Ice cream in the lemonade? Why not? I've never tried that combination before & it's not on my menu anytime soon, either. I sometimes squeeze a lemon or orange & add soda water to the juice. I love how it bubbles right up to the top & then beyond! The pith as well. I had imagined that the pith would sink, but the bubbles are so plenty they carry it up to the top. I slurp up bubbles & pith before I drink the juice.

I have a really clear image of a silvery fish in a dirt road in my mind, thanks to you, Grandy. I wish I could paint it onto canvas. It is rather startling & sort of wonderous in my mind. & then you said about potholes ... which got me giggling too

Of-course, I wonder what could explain the fish finishing up there.

Are there fish in the dam? Do people go fishing there? If so, I imagine someone in a ute, with the fishing gear & an esky, with ice & fish inside, turns sharply to avoid a pothole, & the esky tips a little, & the fish is spat out of the esky ...?

The dam didn't flood & spill water over the roads there, did it, & leaving the occasional fish behind when the water retreated back again ... ? 

[LRC daydreams on the pool table about being in a pothole, counting fish .. grinning from ear to ear. purring loudly, like an electric motor]

Hellooo everyone reading in the BB Cafe! 

Hey Paws, only my toes are painted sparkly blue like the OCEAN we swam in yesterday! I went in for a pedicure to get all the crunchies scraped off my feet! LOL! 

Dear Lord we have THREE possums on my balcony, from where I'm writing lol. One little possums grabbed my hand tonight with her soft padded feet as I was holding out a piece of pear for her to eat. That feeling was SO SPECIAL! Much like when they tread softly across my lap! 
LOL! 

I just wish they all got along like my kids do... the possies haven't read our Family Mission Statement! hahaha.

I LOVE how your fairy light deter insects! 
I must do that. 
Isn't it beautiful to sit amongst fairy lights? 
I have them winding UP trees in my back yard so at night it looks like a WONDERLAND when I look over it from my balcony.

Ok I've been unable to focus on anything else... I love it... the mystery of the fish out of water has occupied my every thought... I like mmMekitty's suggestion of it escaping from a fisherman... though jumping from the fisherman's basket onto the road must be the fish equivalent of jumping from the frying pan into the fire... ummmm.... I'm guessing there haven't been any tornadoes for it to fall out of... perhaps a couple of wedgetail eagles or other birds had a tussle over it & both failed to hang on to it.. why they wouldn't just go & get it again

has me scratching my head... only other options I can think of are ufo's or something similar... lol
