The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe
Important Message from ModSupport:

Hey everyone again…
Kookaburra biscuits are the best. I have only ever bought them occasionally as a treat.
And Grandy, I would love to see you do a Tim Tam slam. Never tried it myself. 😀
I usually stick to the plain Digestives as these are usually on special. But my ultimate decadent Digestives are the ones coated in dark chocolate. They melt in your mouth. I must avoid them.
My son is leaving for the USA later this month to spend time with his sister and brother in law and I am so envious. I have prepared some beautiful gifts for them as they have their wedding anniversary coming up as well as Christmas. I won’t be sending TIM TAMS this time.
My son’s luggage allowance is for one checked bag only and as it’s getting cold over there he needs room to pack for cooler weather. He’s going to be there right in the middle of the US election and staying very close to Washington DC. Crossing my fingers that all will be well. 🤞
Have a wonderful week everyone and I am going to have a Latte with just one Digestive biscuit.
Fiatlux 🙏🏼

Hi Quirky,
Kookaburra or Kooka’s Country Cookies as they are now known are readily available in supermarkets and as Grandy described them “Kookaburra biscuits…short bread with jam inside and one side coated with chocolate, they are a big biscuit compared to other biscuits”
Are delicious! I love the ones filled with lemon curd!
Getting hungry as I type… Fiatlux 🙏🏼😀

Hi Cafe friends,
Just dropped by to wish everyone a wonderful World Menopause Day!
So to celebrate getting through to the other side of this, we can eat whatever we want to and feel like!
I’m having, Lemon and Biscotti ice cream, right after I finish my Lobster mornay. (lobster in my dreams, but the ice cream is real).
Enjoy the weekend, lovely friends. Fiatlux 🙏🏼

I'll second that, happy World Menopause Day for Friday!
Lemon and biscotti ice cream sounds fantastic. I've just come back from a lovely trip to Europe (including Italy), so I'd also like to bring some gelati to the BB Cafe! I've got pistachio, vanilla, chocolate... what flavour would everyone like today?

Hi everyone,
I understand that Italians will judge a gelato shop by how good their pistachio gelato is. It’s one of my favourite. The other favourite is coffee gelato. My favourite after a pasta dinner.
I sent my son out to find Maggie Beer’s Lemon Curd Ripple & Amaretti Biscuit ice cream, but Coles didn’t have it yet. I am looking forward to trying this.
Anyhow, this morning I have ducklings in my pool again. Mum with about 10 chicks appeared from nowhere. My bird and duck frightened devices haven’t worked. Back to the drawing board.
Quiche for dinner tonight. Quick and easy already made. Just heat and eat and add some asparagus. Yum.

That's so true! Pistachio gelato is delicious, so I think that's a valid test. Coffee gelato is also great.
Oh no! We sometimes get ducks in our pool as well, I'm not too sure how they get in there but it's a cute little surprise to see them on occasion.
Quiche sounds like a great dinner. What kind of quiche?

Well nothing inspirational to add....so I will tell you what I am snacking on here while I do some work on my computer....a little bowl of feta (the Danish kind that doesn't crumble everywhere all the time) and stuffed green olives. If I'd had some and the time to add to it, I'd also have a few cherry tomatoes, perhaps a few black pepper water crackers???

I like grilled halloumi and olives and capers.
