The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Just sitting here waiting for my menu log order of chicken parmigiana to arrive. I think I may have a menu log addiction since I order all the time.

Food glorious food...

Hi all,

Gees I'm finding that the older I get the more people I like to pass away. And then there's Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones who could have died nine times over, but he's still here. Sorry, don't mean to be mean. But he really was flying by his pants for a number of years. I love the filmmaker David Lynch and in particular the show Twin Peaks. I'll be sad when he passes (he's 76) because I love what he does with films. But I don't think of him often. I think that is an age thing. When you're younger it means much more to you.

Still gloomy around these parts, no rain, just grey skies. I have just been back to my podiatrist, who tells me there is not anything more they can do with my feet, and they will deteriorate. I'm terrified I will end up in a wheelchair, so I am doing what I can to avoid that. Hopefully, I am having surgery later on in the year to fuse together the bones in my right foot so it does not flip over like my left foot, fingers crossed! It's a bit of a crap situation to be in, but I'm hanging in there!

So after talking about that, I'll have that large chocolate eclair in there please to go.

Leisa

Hi Monkey, be right with you.๐Ÿ›น I've been talking too much!

๐Ÿ’จHere, Leisa, catch! ๐Ÿฉ+๐Ÿฎ+๐Ÿซ (put them together, & is that near enough to good enough?)

hi everyone,

Lately my memory has been terrible and i cant concentrate at all. ive been feeling very nervous that i may have early on set alzheimer's disease which is making me feel worse. Im on medication for anxiety and ive been on it for at least 3 or 4 years now and i have heard that sometimes long use of it can cause these same problems/symptoms. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences. Any help would greatly appreciated it ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello Stueyb, & welcome to the forum.

I don't have a direct answer for you - I'm not using anti-anxiety meds. I wanted to say 'hello & welcome'.

I hope some others will be by to have better answers or suggestions for you.

Warmly,

mmMekitty

Hi Stuey,

Welcome to the forums, and thank you for sharing here. It sounds like youโ€™ve been going through it for a while, but we agree, sharing with others is a great step towards feeling better.

As the lovely mmMekitty has mentioned, some of our community members will be able to relate to some of what youโ€™ve been going through and be able to share some of the wisdoms that have helped them once they spot your post. Weโ€™d also like to suggest starting a thread of your own if youโ€™d like to share more of your story and your perspectives.

Thanks again for sharing, itโ€™s not always easy so we hope you can be proud of having taken this step.

Kind regards,

Hello stueyb...

Welcome to our forums and our lovely warm BB Cafe..

I am sure that anxiety meds as well as other mental health medication does effects people differently....I think that to be 100% sure of what the side effects or long term effects are on your anxiety meds...the best person to reach out to and talk about them is your Dr.... to help you to understand mor about them....

Iโ€™m wondering if you would like to start your own thread...that way more people could call in to help support you, the best we can...If you press on Forums FAQ...it will help guide you to start your own thread...only if you want to...no,pressure at all...

Kind thoughts Dear stueyb..

Hi Stueyb

I am currently undertaking my Bachelor of Dementia Care and I can let you know that I don't think you have early Alzheimers. You do become forgetful at any stage of your life and it could be due to stress or if you have any form of depression, that should mask any clear thoughts and you can become forgetful. They say if you forget things that could be normal, but forgetting where you are could be a sign of early dementia. You sound very stressed could that be the problem? Also, I have been on anti-anxiety tablets for around ten years, and I don't have problems with them, but we are all so very different and go through different symptoms. I hope I have helped a little Stueyb, I hope you start to feel better very soon.

Just ordered a meal through menu log and it never showed up and unable to contact the restaurant until later. I really hope they are there later on. What a bummer.

Hi Monkey๐Ÿ˜บ & all,

Just curious, what's wrong with what I cook? Too much cat hair? Furballs in the soup? Here, let me get you a strainer!

๐Ÿ˜บI got some of the corned beef from Woolies & golly-gee it's salty! I like my salt, which I'm not supposed have so much, but this was way over too much! I was encouraged by this saltiness, to cut it into small portions to freeze, & so not eat it all too fast. So, I also feel I get my money's worth, too.

Maybe I will add small chunks to my vegie & gnocchi soup. mmm yes, sounds good to me.๐Ÿ˜ธ
