The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

😺Hi Quirkywords! Oh get me out of the rain! I have a new umberella, a really bright purple one, but I need new floaties! & a bigger 🛶!
Yes, now I want to eat more, too, because it warms me up! So yeah, I think I eat more when the weather is cooler to freezing, if only to warm me, body &psychologically, probably even more so. nearly all my comfort foods are warm/hot foods, as well.
In fact, I'd like some thick, creamy chicken soup with pasta & croutons right now, while it's raining like standing in my shower with the water lightly spraying over my head. But the shower is awfully wide out there & cold!

Hello Quirky, mmMeKitty and everyone.....Yes I also do eat more food when the weather is cold....Not sure why but having a hot bowl of veggies soup, casserole and other “winter” meals... is like snuggling under a warm soft doona/quilt....
Today after I got back from my appointment...I decided to make a small pot of spaghetti bolognese...warm comfort food....I put the left overs into the cafe’s fridge...it was so yummy....I even grated some Parmesan cheese for on top.....Plenty for everyone who wishes to try some..

😺Oh, good, Grandy, that'll be so good with my soup! Great to see you here tonight.
The rain has eased again, & I hope the worst is over, for now... ooo, I'm getting nervy about heavy rain, lately.
I wonder if some of why we want more food in colder months is something instinctual, like because this would be a more difficult time for hunters & gatherers to get food, & they would preserve & store as much as possible too, so now we simply want to get more into us - just in case there won't be enough later?

good evening everyone 🌙
feeling unusually fatigued the whole day but still find it hard to fall asleep tonight
Mekitty, hope you find a physiotherapist who can meet your need, it's good to be more active and enjoy massages 😺 I don't know much about these health professions, I think there's one called exercise physiologist if I'm not wrong, are they doing similar jobs as trainers?
I'm keeping warm at the moment and the blankets have already been taken out. it's time to have lasagna in big portions, Asian veggies slow cook stew and other kinds of casserole dishes that I love 😊 good appetite everyone

Hi everyone,
I definitely tend to eat more in the cold and rain. The floor here is weatherboards and when it is cold I can see footprints. And the footprints from the couch to the fridge are pretty dense. From where I sit anyway. The weather is very gloomy, but there is very little rain today.
mmMekitty I hope you are well. I hope the doctor's visit is not too serious. I often have to visit the doctor due to my feet. In both legs, my tendons have torn, and both feet have collapsed. I can no longer practice as a Registered Nurse from this year so it has been a bit rubbish. I cannot walk for long periods there is no strength in my feet. However, I start volunteering soon, so I hope something comes out of that. Also, I have more time to go to some social events, so that fills in the day. You never know who you are going to meet! Particularly at the BB cafe!
Umm, that key lime pie looks too good to resist, so I'll have that, please. Along with a flat white. I hope everyone is well.

Hello Tayla!😺 Great tp see you today, too, & (just like Play School), I see Leisa, & On the Road & Grandy, still here, too! The kitchen is warm & cosy, & the place smells of herbs & spices, & everything nices!
We're all great company, & maybe some stew, or pie, or Croissant with a hot mug of Milo. or something you especially like?
We've been talking food, & whether or not do we eat more in colder months. Some have said, yes, they do, that's why the kitchen is the happening hub tonight!
You have anything you'd like to talk about? Just shout!😺
I went to the doctor, & know now I have bursitis.
& by the way, there is such people call 'Exercise Physiologists' & I saw one some years ago, & she took care to make sure she instructed me on how to do exercises like those Physiotheripist give, so I'm not sure what the difference is. Something to Google?

... & it rained (not really heavily) all night. It's 'light' now, but the sky is brightening up better than yesterday, I hope...
So, it's early again, for me & the kettle that sings (not that terrible whistle), is on & I'm laying out cups , saucers & spoons.
& I'll set up the 6-slice toaster, with everything ready to go: jam, brown yeast-based product, peanut paste, cruncy & smooth, that other brown stuff with the very sweet choc/hazelnut flavour, butter, marj, fruit conserves, (lots of flavours), honey, cinnamon-sugar, & cheese! Oh, do I need chutney, too? Okay! You can have that, too. In fact, take the whole jar. 😸
Guess I will be doing some more research today. I will certainly drop by from time to time, when I need a break.
Do I hear someone asking, 'why the emphasis on toast this morning?'
I've given this a little thought, just a alittle one, & have decided it might be because a local Toastmasters group will be visiting for brunch & I just wanted to show them I am ready to join!! 😺
I put a little of the cinnamon & some choc bits into my milky-coffee cuppa, mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmm! 😸

Hi mmMekitty,
An exercise physiologist researches your medical history, then determines the best exercise you need from that research. I have never had one, I hear they are good. Bursitis is painful, I hope you get some rest.
Toast sounds good to me. I went to a ladies long lunch yesterday for my son's school, and some mums were really letting their hair down! When the cat's outta town the mice get down! I guess it was held at a bar. I left pretty early but met some nice other mums so it was good.
Otherwise a week ahead of medical appointments, singing class, and an art gallery on Thursday. I try to keep as busy as possible so I don't dwell. It was quite sad to hear about Andrew Symonds this morning, it's getting to be the year of losing people who are so young.
I'll grab the cinnamon toast to go with a cafe latte thanks. I'll try and stay during the week.
Leisa
