I have had an ongoing fascination with analysing personality, and what makes myself and others tick, and have found the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to be a surprisingly accurate measure of such things. I have catalogued the types of many of the people in my life, and probably driven them nuts with my project. It's an interesting study, though, observing consistent traits among the types, how they relate to life skills, coping strategies, how they function in different settings and why.
If you know your type, feel free to share, and things you may have discovered about yourself or that have helped you relate to others using resources about it. If you don't know your type, and want to, I found the site 16 Personalities pretty good for testing and dissecting the types.
If it's of any interest, I am an INTP, and the information about my type on that site is pretty spot-on. I've only used that as a starting point for my research. There is so much information out there on the types, and the differences between them that actually goes a long way to breaking down the core of otherwise confusing conflicts, or getting the most out of a person at work or in a friendship, etc.
Anyway, it's a bit of a project of mine, and I wanted to open it up to anyone who wants to contribute.

Just found this thread. Sounds interesting. Blonde Guy - Paul, you would never pick it but I am also ENFJ and here's the overall summary of us.
Everything you do right now ripples outward and affects everyone. Your posture can shine your heart or transmit
anxiety. Your breath can radiate love or muddy the room in depression. Your glance can awaken joy. Your words can inspire freedom. Your every act can open hearts and minds. David Deida
ENFJs are natural-born leaders, full of passion and charisma. Forming around two percent of the population, they are oftentimes our politicians, our coaches and our teachers, reaching out and inspiring others to achieve and to do good in the world. With a natural confidence that begets influence, ENFJs take a great deal of pride and joy in guiding others to work together to improve themselves and their community.
It's a long time since I looked at my personality analysis. So it's like reading it for the first time again.
E = (Mind) Extroverted
N = (Energy) Intuitive
F = (Nature) Feeling
J = (Tactics) Judging
I think Paul is the only other ENFJ but I scrolled through quickly.

It appears we are very special people, only 2% of the population are ENFJ.
At least that's my reading of it. There could be many reasons why only 2% are ENFJ but I choose to believe we are indeed awesome people.

Hiya Blue - I've done the Myers-Briggs assessments a couple of times in the past, with the same result - INTJ.
Problematic, because it means I want people to make sense. No wonder I'm a bit unhinged. 😊
Cheers

Blue: that makes sense, I can count on one hand the people who can intellictualy stimulate me into a conversation and keep me interested.
A lot of people I know aceept things the way they are and don't even bother to question which I sometimes envy, they say ignorance is bliss but my curiosity won't allow me to live in such a state 😕 I just gotta know haha

Kiamau, I completely agree. My curiosity drives me, and I would rather have knowledge that hurts than live in ignorance. I question absolutely everything, from the basis of my own most basic beliefs (the things surprisingly few people question and often find they don't actually believe, when they finally do look closer) to the motivations of people around me, to philosophy, physics, language, even the most mundane of things (that thing I just ate was yum, how do I make it?). To me, learning is one of the most satisfying things I could be doing, and if I'm stuck with daily drudgery and unable to follow my curiosity, it makes for a very sad Blue.
I see so much willful ignorance around me, even in those who appear to have adequate intellectual faculties for learning, and it completely baffles me. With popular media, politics, religion, etc. flourishing as they do in the way they do, it's abundantly clear that the vast majority of people simply want to be told what to think, and won't find out for themselves what is true (or at least vaguely likely to be true), or what they actually believe or stand for. It's a difficult world for someone like me to live in. So coming back to the personality thing, I do find the company of an INTJ to be like a wee island of good sense in the midst of all the incomprehensible idiocy or emotional flailing of most other people.

Hiya Blue and my fellow INTJ Kiamau!
You've nailed it Blue - willful ignorance drives me nuts! I question everything too, to my detriment usually. Not a good trait for a public servant haha. During my recent bad episode transitioning on medications I came unstuck with something at work when several committees, including some with the highest paid people in the organisation, had to meet to decide (amongst other things) if we could spend a small amount of money on a program that would train 20 people in mental health first aid. I pointed out that the salaries for the people and time involved in meeting to make the decision cost far more than the amount I wanted to spend, but was told basically that 'that's the way it's done'. No logic, no reasoning, just 'that's the process'. Things like that do my head in (and did).
Another example (sorry, I'm venting now) was the idea of another committee that they would take over a fundraising plan I had proposed and raise money for a different organisation! I explained it was my own private initiative, registered in my name, but they still thought they could maybe spilt the profits! The sheer arrogance and stupidity of that one put me in a very nasty bipolar fury and I had to end up withdrawing from the mental health program I was running!
This is a great thread Blue. Sorry to use it to vent. It's actually a relief to be reminded that there are reasons other than being bipolar that make me react the way I do to things. I'd forgotten all about Myers Briggs until you started this.
Cheers
Kaz
