Hey! Welcome to Friends Cafe.
This is a chill and chat space for young BB members to talk about anything and everything and make new friends.
When school's getting to you, uni or work has got you down, parents, partners, friends don't understand, and especially if you're feeling alone or lonely - come and relax awhile and talk to others who know just how you feel.
Our minds can cause us trouble, but they can also be amazing things that imagine beauty, love and fun. This cafe has everything you can imagine. To start with it's, well, a cafe. So there's chairs and tables, comfy couches for flopping, a big screen tele, unlimited download on computers for games, Spotify (or an old-school jukebox if you prefer), every movie you can think of on instant demand ... whatever you want, it's here. Post and tell us what'd you'd like.
Plus, there's an infinite menu of whatever food or drinks takes your fancy. And it's all free!
To kick it off, today we have a special range of Monster Milkshakes - those thick gooey shakes topped with cronuts, chocolate bars, cake, cookies ... whatever you want. And if you can get through one of them, you're a legend (and probably feeling a little bit sick LOL!)
Welcome friends.

Ok hey guys I'v just started here in this forum and come back BB again.
Ok so I have the most stupidest question that's prob going around, but this cafe sounds AWSOME, I think it's a Great idea, however I know it's stupid for me to ask, is this cafe a legit cafe around BB or is this just for the forums online.
As I'v read a bit about this and found myself questioning this as it sounds legit but then I'm also thing or is it just for on here. As I have been wrecking my brain about this and know that it's prob a stupid question I thought I might just bite the bullet and ask it.
Hope everyone is having a splended day 🙂
Bec xx

Hi Becka, welcome hun. Hey that's not a stupid question at all! And the answer is yes ... and yes. 😃 Yes the cafe does exist on only the forum - it's a virtual cafe.
But yes it's legit because while it's not a bricks and mortar place, it exists - here and in our minds - to be what we would all like to have in a real cafe near us. A place to go to meet up with other people who can get to know us and we them, a place where people understand and care about our lives and our struggles.
It's for everyday life. It has a menu, furnishings, entertainment etc, all imaginary, to help us feel relaxed, talk about everyday things and contribute to the sense of community by introducing things to share (eg Grace suggested beanbags and books, so now we have beanbags and books). Maybe by having such things in this imaginary place, we can make new friends by discussing them, for example books we've read etc. You get the idea ...
Personally, I think it's hard to resist a chance to talk about food, music and ourselves. For others it might be sports, pets, games, TV shows etc. By having all these things 'here' we have a place to share some fun, some chat, distract ourselves from bad feelings and, importantly, exercise the positive, creative and richly imaginative aspects of our minds that, when we're unwell, we often forget are even there.
So, do you like Monster Milkshakes? They are the cafe's speciality at the moment. What would you like? (All food in the cafe is free, calorie-free and nutritious, even if it's not.)
Lovely to have you here.

Hi Grace,
Thank you so much for your care and support! I'm glad the story was interesting from your point of view 🙂 It's absolutely fantastic that you went to China at 14, and interacted with young kids with Autism! That is rare at that age! I had no contact with kids with Autism until I was about 21 actually. There is absolutely no need to feel embarrassed. At 14, there isn't much more you would be able to do, as you were still young yourself! Just interacting with the kids would have made them feel happy and special, especially as you weren't a teacher, more a friend. You certainly didn't get carried away - I love hearing these sorts of things 🙂
Ah yes, the Bachelor of Psychology, which guarantees entrance to a 4th (Honours) year so long as about a credit average is achieved, is much harder to get into. At the uni I attend, the Bachelor of Psychology program was phased out recently. Now everyone who wants to study psychology enters Bachelor of Psychological Science, and competes for Honours entry after the three years. The subjects in both degree programs were exactly the same. The only difference was that getting into Bachelor of Psychology secured entry into Honours. This is based on my university in a different state though.
You are awesome too Grace!
I hope you're having a nice Sunday! I babysat my neighbour's four kids last night, which was nice. This morning I went for a walk with my boyfriend, and then we had lunch at a sushi train restaurant with his Dad and sister.
My parents left for Tasmania today for a week-long trip, so it'll just be my sister and I in the house.
Best wishes,
SM

Hi Becka,
Welcome to the Friends Café! I'm glad you've joined us here 🙂
I love napoletana sauce too, especially on pasta and pizza. As I told Grace, Italian food is my favourite. I actually haven't tried a monster milkshake before! When I was a kid, I would get everything strawberry flavoured, whether it was ice cream, milkshakes, wafer biscuits etc..
I hope you've had a nice weekend Becka 😄
Best wishes,
SM

Hi 150 lashes,
Like Grace and Kaz, I'd like to welcome you to the Friends Café! Anyone under 50 is considered young these days anyway 😛 It's funny how you say you like young compliments, as I often find that the case with compliments from older people!
It's great to have you with us!
SM 🙂

Hiya SM, thanks hun! May I ask a little favour? Can we define 'young' as anyone under 55? LOL! I'm 53, but still a young wannabe rock chick in my head. I'll grow up one day, but I'm not in a hurry. Having a lovely weekend thanks, hope you are too. (Oh, just a little heads up, our beautiful Grace is from China - out here at boarding school. And, a little birdie told me she's having a birthday soon. Party I say!)
