hi, thought i would start a thread on motorcycles.
any type of motorcycle from minibikes, scooters ,commuters and super-sport too touring motorcycles.............cruisers.
any type of sport regarding motorcycles including the ones you participate in personally on track or just riding for fun like weekend rides and group rides, big social rides like the black dog ride or other events, and of course tv watched events like the moto gp and others.
and most importantly any one who has always dreamed of riding but for some reason never has,or who owns a bike but for some reason can't ride at the moment or like me,i thought i couldn't ride but i can.
older motorcycles like Triumphs suicidal gear stick , BSA Norton ecc..whether you still got one or use to ride one.

WooHoo!
A thread on bikes!
I'm new here
first post last night on a more head space related thread.
I haven't ridden for many years because of circumstances but that doesn't stop the passion.
As part of my self help I'm spending some TLC on a neglected friend (xjr1300) an intend to have it shipped to where I live (remote Aust)
The riding here's not great but at least I'll have something to fiddle with and talk to.
Hi everyone!

Hey guys and gals,
I've been perusing the forums for weeks now for support and advice, unsure of when or how to put my foot in the door. Last night (at work) I found myself smiling.
6 months ago, we took our youngest son out for his second day on the new learner course. I had an epiphany, our eldest son had a bike, my husband had a bike and our youngest son was getting a bike! Maybe after 25 years, I should upgrade my learners. A month later, I had a cbr500 and a licence. 5 months and over 2000km, I've have found a passion. I do wish I had more access to some of these winding roads I've been reading about.
Thank you
Grumps

How great!
Those 500 twins sound like a really nice ride.
So glad to hear it.
I thought this thread was dead.
Tell me about one of your fave things about riding.
Cheers

Hi Molokai,
The 500 is a very sweet ride!
I have always loved the road! I have always loved driving, it brings freedom. Riding has expanded that feeling and given me a chance to feel control.
I’m a prisoner in my own head and my self-control in that space varies from day to day. When I’m on the bike none of that exists, it’s the one thing I can do where I’m still vulnerable but I’m independent and I’m free both physically and emotionally.
Incidentally I have discovered a new group of people, some very colourful characters indeed!
Do you ride? If so what, why and how long?

Hi Grumps
you summed it all up nicely. yep , riding is risky, that's a huge part of the attraction, but we're in control. Your brain processes important stuff efficiently and correctly, otherwise you get physically hurt. I think it's just great that you're are in control of our own destiny while we're riding because what probably brought you to BB was a feeling of being out of control.
I have an old 900 ducati 1984 needing work and a yamaha xjr1300 currently being fixed. However lately i've been thinking a CB500X would be really nice. My bikes are my friends and you can never have enough friends.
Been riding for 30 years but been off the road for various reasons.I have to say that even though I can't go to the garage and jump on a bike at the moment, the thought of being able to do so some time soon is what keeps me going through the tougher times.
Rubber side down and sunny side up Grumps,
Cya
