When you do something you thought you couldn't, how do you reward yourself?

Thus far I have two ways of rewarding myself, that come to mind at least. After I do something that stresses me out I get some take out or if it's something big I buy myself a video-game or other media related merchandise. But lately I am looking for more ways to spoil myself. So I'm wondering: how do you reward yourself for doing something that made you proud or otherwise overcoming an obstacle?

Dear Hypersleep~

Have oyu ever considered having a 'Victory Book' or similar and writing down such deeds in sufficient detail that you can read them back later when feeling down to help lift the mood?

Hey there Croix. How would you pronounce that name?

Actually I kind of do. When I'm particularly down, like I've been lately I recount my days in various detail in a journal. Making sure to highlight achievements and writing down any thinking or experiences that I think led to a breakthrough. It definitely helps me so to anyone else who may read this, consider doing it too!

I do feel conflicted though as it's a journal I try be honest with even the bad things, while there's certainly a strength to documenting those off days, it's definitely more comforting to read about me overcoming things. I've been at it again for about a month and when you feel like every day is your last for one reason or another it's certainly helpful to look at each entry and snap out of such nonsense. Which relates to the "it's definitely more comforting to read about me overcoming things." Every day in that book, and otherwise, is a day I didn't give up. Not to sound too morbid, I just have a habit of over analyzing things.

I'd love even more suggestions! My optimism and general head space change drastically throughout the day, usually settling down around bed time. So the more choices I have to let myself acknowledge I've made progress the better. 🙂

Thanks for the response!
