Using music to help cope?

Personally, music is one of the only things that helps me deal with my anxieties and depression, mainly by ignoring, which is probably less optimal then dealing with it but it helps me i guess. Does this help anyone else? I usually listen to rather pessimistic or "emo" music.
I typically stan the likes of $uicideBoy$, lil peep, guccihighwaters, fats'e, guardin, xxxtentacion, lund, 4ever falling and more people that are less well known. Please tell me i'm not the only one this works for

Hi, yes. I find music incredibly helpful. I find the lyrics can offer a sense of understanding that I, until recently, never thought possible. For me it helps to block out all of the thoughts and offers an escape from the everyday torment that can be so overwhelming.
Music has incredible power, it certainly has a key role in my toolkit of things that helps me through each day.

Music helps me, too! When I was an adolescent, I definitely gravitated to more emo and metal styles of music. Now, I mostly listen to classical music. I had the same response when listening to both genres: I felt more relaxed and was able to distract from negative thoughts or feelings. Whatever style of music, if you enjoy it, and it makes YOU feel relaxed and at peace, then it can be a fantastic go-to when feeling anxious or down.
