Hi,
I have had an onset of Anxiety since giving birth 13 weeks ago, very long story.
My problem is even if I have a great day, only snippets of Anxiety I wake up in the morning feeling so hungover.. I feel dizzy or lightheaded until my BLood Pressure settles I'm assuming. As my body is tired as I'm not going into a deep sleep. I don't have a problem getting to sleep or staying asleep but it's that my mind isn't shutting off so I'm not going into a deep sleep.
Does anyone else have this problem?!
Thanks
Eme

Hi Eme,
I haven't noticed your name here before, so welcome to Beyond Blue. I see you have had a few posts already, so well done.
Have you been to see a Dr to discuss how you are feeling? Have you had your blood pressure checked?
I'm certainly no medical person, but I would be suggesting you get your general health checked out. Your body goes through so many changes when you are pregnant.
You mentioned there is a long story relating I'm presuming to your pregnancy and your baby. Has your anxiety started during this time?
On the internet there are so many ideas and strategies for combating anxiety, you could look up a few ideas and see if any suit you.
Would it help if you were to write down all your anxious thoughts a couple of hours before you went to bed? It may be a little difficult with a new born baby, but can you find some way to relax and unwind before you go to bed?
There are so many stories written here under Anxiety, if you have the time you may find some ideas for dealing with how you are feeling.
Have you tried using the Beyond Blue phone help line. They will be able to advise you and may be able to put you in touch with other groups that can help you.
If you need to share your story, here is a good place to do it anonymously, where you will feel safe, supported and respected.
Hope this has been of some help.
Cheers for now from Mrs. Dools

dear Eme, thanks for posting your comment on this site and welcome a board.
You say that you have a 'very long story' which I hope that you can have trust in talking to us where it's completely anonymous, but that time frame is up to you.
What does happen is when someone has anxiety which does come under the term depression, we can sleep 12 hours but feel as though we haven't slept a wink, so we are exhausted, and I agree with Mrs. Dools in that it would be a good idea to have a full blood test, which can also test your thyroid gland.
This is to test your vitamen levels, platelet levels, red and white blood cells because you maybe lacking in these that you definitely require, especially when you have a young baby.
I remember so vividly when I was suffering from depression I was always tired, not that I did anything, but it was caused by my depression.
I hope that you can get back to us. L Geoff. x
