Possible anxiety?

Jimboloo

Hi all,

Quick run down, I've been sick with severe nausea, unexplained weight loss (13kg), burping ( like a man at the pub after a few beers) and the occasional faint feeling for the past 6 months.

I've brought up the possibility of anxiety with my gp, but as we cannot find any stress/anxious around the time it started he has shrugged it off.

I've been seeing a gastro and dietician as well and every test they do has come up fine, or something that wouldn't be causing any of the symptom .

Its mainly the mornings that its at the worst, I can't even drive at the moment to take my children to school and swimming lessons.

Not having any answers and continuous tests has taken its toll on me, and I feel its taking toll on the people close to me as well ( they are 110% supportive and do not complain, but I feel like a burden). My children have missed out on so much because Mum is sick.

I don't have the well known signs of anxiety. I'm just not sure anymore.

Thanks all 😊

Hey Jimboloo

I just read Sara's post. Theres some great advice in there (if applicable of course like Sara also mentioned) 🙂

I was put on Sustagen Hospital strength...oh boy...that really bloated me but the chocolate was nice

kind thoughts for you

Hi Sara, thanks for that information.

I don't believe I had any body issues prior to bring sick, I was still fitting in clothes from before having kids, I was a little bit more chubby, but I was still happy with it.

I now do have some issues, but that's not thinking I'm too big, its the complete opposite, I was happier when I was bigger and honestly wasn't big at all.

No one had commented on my weight before either, now it's the first thing out of peoples mouths, which is quiet disheartening when youre trying to gain Weight and not succeeding with it.

Thank you again for that Sara.

So we've had more chats about it all.

The only thing that happened around that time was the dreaded gastro, which was picked up from the lovely children at the school and then passed through the house.

I don't deal well with gastro and am quiet scared about getting it again. But its not something that plays on my mind daily or anything.

Hi all quick update, I have been to the Dr, he has since prescribed me with medication. He also wants to see me weekly and organize for me to go and see a phycologists.

He was going to suggest it to me the week before when I seen him, so thankful for all the support and kind word .

Thanks for all your help x

Hi Jimboloo

Good on you for seeing your doc and getting the meds!

Weekly visits are a huge bonus as you will have a better result where recovery is concerned

This is a huge step for you and you should be really proud 🙂

Paul

Thanks Paul, he has had to take me back off them now as the side effects knocked me around too much.

I see him again in a few days after my hospital Appointment. He wants to organize phyc appointment asap, and take it from there.

The partner has even got a week off work as its been that bad, hopefully we can get somewhere productive this week.

Thanks again Jimbo 😊

Hi Jimbo

The side effects can be a pain initially for sure.

You are a legend for organizing everything so well and so fast!

Really good to have you on the forums Jimbo 🙂

my best

Paul

Hey J;

Talking is always productive, so well done for continuing the dialog.

You seem to have great support from your GP. I'm glad you're working as a team to attack this issue. I hope the psych is successful in finding the source of the problem.

Keep up the good work! We're here for you...
