Hi everyone I am new to this forum,
I would like to share a bit about my life,
I suffer epilepsy which is now medically controlled.
I the past the seizures led to other major traumas in my life which I can share at a later date.
This also led to periods of isolation, stress, and depression which I have had to learn how bounce back from.
I would love to talk to those who have gone through similar and also can someone please help me maximise the use of this forum
Thanks

Hi Blufftuff,
Welcome! I can see by your post count that you've started having conversations or joining them elsewhere - so I hope that you're finding these forums very welcoming. Jumping into posts is a big way to get use out of the forums as well as starting your own thread.
Also yes, I can relate - to all of it - mine aren't quite controlled yet but I'm doing the best I can even though I know how hard it can be. I think online forums can be a great way to get a sense of community and reduce those feelings of isolation, even just knowing that you're not alone in the way that you're feeling or what you are going through.
I hope you're enjoying it here

Thank you for getting in touch with me.
I am also on the Australian for epilepsy and I find that it is refreshing, as not only can we share our hard times, but we can also encourage one an other as well.
I was seizure for 12 years and 3 years had multiple seizures, and because of this, Isolated myself from family and friends which led to isolation and depression,.
Because I had been there in the past, I knew the early signs and forced myself to seek support from family and friends.
The specialist kept giving me med was on 6 which which ere not good, ended up in hospital last year unconscious and this time the mater neurology changed my meds and I am on 3 now and since the change have been seizure free which is so liberating.
Please keep in touch,
Regards.

Hi and welcome Bluftuff!
I'm glad you've found your way to BB! I'm just one of the people using the forums here but wanted to say hello and great that you've found us.
I'm reasonably new, I found it took a little while to get used to the different forums etc, in fact I still am... I find it helps to get involved in some of the silly games and things on the Social Site, things like movies A-Z etc, and the BB Café is good - people come and go, sometimes it's quiet there and other times lots of people are posting, there's no way of knowing I just check in from time to time. Now I know several regulars and it's great! I think you'll find a lot of help and support and company here. I'd say join anything in the Social section, the Café, the silly games, the Staying Well section, and once you get to know people it's more rewarding.
I'm so glad to hear the epilepsy is controlled now but it must have been terribly difficult to cope with previously and I can well understand how it would lead to isolation and loneliness. I hope you'll find your way around - it does take a little while to get the hang of it all - and that you'll find this a really helpful place to meet other people and get support.
So welcome again and I'm so glad you have found BB! Best wishes!

Hi Blufftuff,
That's no worries at all, I do know how much of a lonely experience it can be. I'm really glad that you have some good support around you. I'm also super happy for you that your seizures are better controlled and now seizure free! That's so wonderful.
I hope that with less seizures some of the other things are not quite so intense, like the isolation, stress and depression? How have you been managing or coping with these things?

Thanks for asking as yes
The stress anxiety and depression have been something I have experienced numerous times.
Right now I am much better and learnt to recognise the early warnings.
This has opened a new door for me as now I can listen to people who are going through this terrible time
