Hi cometail, welcome

Social anxiety and general anxiety and depression is a challange for many of us so we tend to take what we find is the safe route...isolation.

You are with similar people here. There is a great thread called the circle of friends if you feel inclined to go on there and chat away. Jjust go to "all posts" and scroll down.

For me I found that I had to find a balace in sicial connection and protecting myself from potentially harmful people.

To explain this further please use google with the following

Topic: fortress of survival- beyondblue

Topic: the balance of your life- beyondblue

Topic: accepting yourself, the frog and the scorpion- beyondblue

A recent one I wrote is "finding YOURSELF" which can be found in all posts...it may not be on google yet.

Good luck, post anytime.

Hi Comettail,

Firstly, a big welcome to the forums. It takes a lot of courage to take that first step and reach out. Good on you!

I'm sorry to hear that you're being affected like this. You must feel so alone. If you don't mind me asking, do you have anyone who supports you - friends, family, partner etc?

You didn't mention if you were seeing a psychologist/counsellor but if you're not, maybe it's something you would consider?

I would love it if you posted more, but I understand it can be very hard to write to complete strangers, so it's okay if you don't. Just hope this helps. 😊

Take care,

Mia
