Medication isn't helping!

It's been almost three weeks since I started taking medication for Depression and Anxiety, as per my doctor's instructions. I don't feel any different and all it's done is make it ten time harder to sleep (which I already have a hard time doing). What time of day is best to take it for it to be most effective?
My psychologist said that I'm an unusual case and that she'll clarify that in our next appointment, which is a few weeks away.
My doctor said that she would start me out with a low dose and that we'll see what happens.
But it's been over three weeks and I don't feel any different? Do I need to request for a higher dose? Or just give it more time? Or should I just consult my doctor and psychologist?

Welcome to the forums.
Your thoughts and questions are very common. Is your Dr a GP or Psychiatrist? GPs do have a tendency to be conservative with doses. That said its common to start with a low dose of antidepressants and slowly build up. 3-4 weeks is common for them to start taking effect, and at this point you could request a higher dose. Antidepressants are meant to help with low mood so they definitely wont help with sleep, but there are other medications that will. Its common that people take antidepressants in the morning as they seem to have this rousing affect.
Keep speaking with your Dr (preferably a Psychiatrist) about the effects the medication is having. Sometimes it can take a few trials of different styles of antidepressants before you find the one that's right for you.
Im not sure what your Psychologist meant by her comment, but Psychologists aren't Drs, so best to keep this separate from medication.
