Hi Sammyd

Its okay Sammy.....I had the same tingling sensation as you in my early stages of the dreadful anxiety phase....Having anxiety can bring on many 'feelings' that we dont need and dont want too!

It may not much help but I have had severe anxiety for many years and it does dissipate in severity.....seriously. In this early stage of meds do yourself a favor and see you GP as frequently as you can for just simple reassurance.

You are more than welcome to post back as many times as you wish Sammy.....

Here for you 🙂

Thanks for the reply

i have not felt so sick in my life. I thought before starting the meds I wasn't well now I feel ten times worse to the point I don't know where I am and very disorientated it's actually scaring me and the pressure in my head 😞 I just want to stop taking it but I don't want to (if that makes sense)

Hi Sammyd,

sorry to hear that the meds are knocking you around. I don't have any advice other than contacting your dr. because I haven't started mine yet but have been doing lots of reading up on them and it seems lots of people develop side effects most of which get better after your body adjusts. I hope that things get better for you very soon.

take care

Hey Sammy

Just saying hello and seeing how you are going

Saltwater is spot on with the side effects subsiding after your system adjusts...

You are not alone

dear Sammyd, everybody has different sensations and different reactions when they start taking antidepressants (AD), some are the positive feeling of hope and relief at last, while others are hesitant but believe it is something which will help them overcome their depression, and then those who don't want to take them but do so on the advice of their doctor or psych, but what Saltwater and Paul have said are true, but then there are those who don't feel as though they can not cope with their AD, because the temporary side-effects aren't what they want.
We know what you are saying and often enough we too have had the same bad side-effects ourselves, but you have to look at how bad you were feeling in terms of being depressed before taking them, and now it may seem that if you stop them you could be better off, well there are positives and negatives before you decide what you are going to do.
If your doctor wants to start you on a new AD then you will probably have to dry out and if this is the case then they can give you something to help you before you start another one, or they may want to wait a few more weeks just to see how your body is trying to adjust to this AD.
This may seem to be a long time for you, but the relief you eventually will have from them would outweigh all the negatives.
I can't tell you what to do, and it's not my position to do so, however by upping the dose could be a solution, so can I explain what I mean, if you take 1 headache tablet to get rid of a thumping headache then that's not going to help you that much, but if you take 2 headache tablets then that will get rid of your pain, the same could apply with your AD. Geoff.
