Hi Everybody
This is only the basic dictionary definition...
"Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When you're mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance without judging them good or bad. Instead of letting your life pass you by, mindfulness means living in the moment without judgement"
- Please be as blunt you wish....If you dont have an idea about mindfulness it would be great if you could let us know
- If mindfulness hasnt worked/or is too broad a concept for you it would great if you can let us know your thoughts too
- If mindfulness has helped you, please help others to help themselves by posting how you have embraced this mindset
It goes without saying that the forums are a judgement free zone and I really hope that everyone can jump in and have their say

Paul, yes i am highly fortunate to be in the position that i am. I am very grateful for this as I see so many who are not as fortunate.
Massive plane the A380 and provided really good mindfulness in itself. Staring at the wing, how big it is and then marveling at the engineering behind it. There is also a camera on the tail which you can tune into a channel and watch live. Fascinating to watch.

Just an update........I have been 'adjusting' my 1980's grounding therapy to mindfulness....and its working 🙂
One hour in the garden today went by in 5 minutes....there were no interfering thoughts while my focus was on the task in hand.....just peace of mind..I was actually devoid of any negatives...

You have inspired me to give mindfulness gardening another go. I do find weeding rewarding until I find out I have pulled out the wrong plants!!
I did read that a weed is just a plant in the wrong place because what we call weeds here in Australia other places treasure and vice versa.
My lavender needs pruning and I put it off my saying I like the wild look but you
have inspired me to try again and be positive. I will report back.

Thanks for the support. I even had the radio on and didnt even hear the talk back because I was in my mindfulness bubble and was oblivious to anything except what I was doing.
Interesting too that anxiety is nowhere as powerful when our mind is elsewhere. Anxiety needs an idle mind to start bugging us.

Scared of ruining the lavender so trying to find a youtube clip that well help . Mark I like the results of gardening but not the hard work. You and Paul and everyone here has inspired me to challenge myself. I am anxious now I will make the plant so small there will be no flowers. I am the woman who can ruin an artificial plant!!
