Hi Everyone,
If you hadn't noticed, we are now in 2017! For some of us, 2016 was not so flash in parts with some events being experiences we would rather forget.
Guess what! This is a NEW YEAR! We can all start over again!
I know there has been great hardship and tragedy in so many people's lives, I truly acknowledge that and my heart felt best wishes go out to you all.
For me, I am going to try hard to make this the best year I can!
I'm going to work on improving my health mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
I'm going to find different ways to make the most of each day, to laugh more and have some fun.
A trip to the library will help me find some comical books to read or maybe one on a place I have dreamt about visiting.
I will eventually drag the tent out of the shed and set it up, even if it is just in the back yard.
I will look in my garden for flowers or nice looking foliage to place in a vase on the table.
Oh! There are so many things to experience and try.
Who wants to join me in making 2017 a year of experiencing new and different things or revitalising past hobbies and interests?
Okay, anyone have any suggestions for what they hope to do this year?
Today is a brand new day! Grab hold of it and embrace it!
Cheers all from Dools

Hi Dools you are right about focusing on what you have done rather than what is left. I try to print a weekly planner each week with a list of chores, appointments & other things I want/need to do regularly. I have it on the computer so it is easy to update before printing. Through the week I tick off what I have done & there is space for each day to briefly list what I have done. Advantages are I don't have to worry about forgetting anything & things can be put off to the next week if necessary. The other big advantage to me is by recording what I have done each day it forces me to focus on my achievements (even if they weren't planned) rather than feeling bad about what is left to be done, It doesn't matter how you do it but it is good for each of us to take time to notice what we have done each day. Perhaps if we haven't been as successful as we like we could also remember what stopped us (eg we weren't well or something else interupted) This helps keep things in perspective & helps us accept our limitations.
What do others think?

HI Elizabeth,
I really like your idea, it is excellent. I have been thinking of doing something like that myself. I do make myself a list some days and tick off the things I have managed to do. Your idea is more thorough and being right there in front of you as a record is a wonderful idea.
At present I am keeping a food diary so I can see where I need to change my diet more for my cholesterol and general health. It helps me keep accountable to myself and on a healthier diet.
I may try to adapt your strategy, it is a good one. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers from Dools

Good Morning Everyone,
While having a look on Facebook, I saw a few hints and ideas on how to make the most of this new year.
I have changed the wording of some of the ideas! It seems Facebook is rather free on the language that is acceptable there! Ha. Ha.
Please add to the list if you have other ideas, funny or otherwise.
1) Stop doing stuff you hate
2) Love the body you are in
3) Be kind to yourself
4) Smash some goals ( and praise yourself for doing so)
5) Walk barefoot where ever possible, feel connected to the earth
6) Share your magic/uniqueness with others
7) Be brave...take that first step
😎 Be a nice human
9) Side step not so nice people
10) Use your creativity
Hope this gives people a few ideas on how to tackle this year differently!
Cheers all from Dools
