It's coming back

Hi....this is my first post. I've always fought the black dog. Recently I beat a plethora hurdles and bad situations.....near death experience, two months in hospital, 7 surgeries, prescription pill addiction, isolation living overseas, increasingly abusive relationship, PTSD. I RAN, I resettled in Aus, i got work, I found myself in love again...I was happy and energetic. But It's coming back. I read somewhere when you don't want to get out of bed, you know you're getting bad again. I have a beautiful new partner. I'm just so tired all the time. I've put on weight which he likes but I can't forget the words of disgust from my ex when I wasn't stick thin. I need some perspective and support guys

Dear RunGirl~

Well, it may be a worrying diagnosis, but combined with the fact you know at least some of the cause (medication) plus the fact you are not jaundiced does give cause for a lot of hope.

The waiting goes on, a horrible place to be in. Your Indie sounds really lovely, like Jay I think pets are amazing, giving joy and even perspective. I've three, Zeppelin, Sumo and Nasty. For some reason my pets end up being called by their characteristics:)

Was Indie named from running round in circles like the Indie 500?

If you can't get your mind off things at times why not write the situation into one of your characters?

Ha, no she just "told" me her name. I think it's more like Indie films......slightly odd but cool, pieced together, no particular label , AND she was independent as a tiny pup before she was rescued. But now that I think of those mad speed circles........

Thanks, you made me laugh!!!! Vrrrrrrooooooooommm!!!

Croix, what are your pets? Dogs, cats, some of each? I miss having the energy of a cat around. I like to have one of each!!!

Dear RunGirl~

I'm glad you like pets. Why no pop over to my Happy Memories thread

Forums / Staying well / Store Your Happy Memories Here: (Look on page one - my post of 31 January)

I wrote a fair bit in that post about the freeloading three in our household. Having cats is good if they agree, Nasty Cat sees that does not happen 😞

Hi RunGirl,

I am sorry about the diagnosis of a toxic liver, there does seem to be some good news about not yellowing. When is the specialist booked for? I know the wait will be nervous but think of it like this, they have found what it is and can now give you the best help to recover from it.

My best,

Jay

Hi Jay

The specialist is booked for Monday - this one coming, the 4th. Of course I'm spending every half hour checking for signs of yellow but I'll get there!!!!!

Best

Dear RG~

Well Monday might seem a way off but you will get there. I know you are joking about checking for yellow every half hour but the whole thing will weigh on your mind or course.

Maybe Indie will appreciate extra outings. Talking of wallabies and birds reminds me of my walks. I can't go far, but far enough to reach a hedgerow with paddocks. I always try to go after dark with a torch and look for possums, rabbits and bandicoots, together with plovers and other birdlife.

The Zeppelin Dog goes troppo, but is held (just) by her lead. I get a lot of enjoyment out of this. I can start with mind racing and by the time I get back am much calmer and in a better frame of mind

Hi RunGirl,

Oh I have been there, I was convinced my eyes were yellowing after I was quite ill and was convinced something was wrong with my liver and I even went to the doctors to get my eyes checked and they said it was nothing. I kept checking every time I saw a mirror which wasn't good and it was driving me insane so I know the feeling.

Distraction is the key, keeping your mind occupied.

My best,

Jay

Guys, how do I make a new thread? I can't find any "my threads" tab or anything similar and I don't know how to do it.

Help appreciated!

Dear RG~

To make a new thread

1) click on the Forums word in the line at top of page - take oyu to the Start Here page

Forums / PTSD & Trauma / It's coming back

2) click on the section you need (BB Social Zone, Depression etc)

3) click on the green NEW THREAD button (to right of page)

I'd just like to note:

If your subject is part of what is happening to you in this thread you should stay here, so anyone posting to you can see what's been happening (plus saves you repeating yourself).

If you are picking a new subject please make sure it does not exist already (e.g. pets, poetry, suicide: why not etc).

Any hassles or further questions please just sing out
