Tiredness and lack of energy

KC12

Hi, I have been dealing with depression for the last 2 years and probably one of the things I have been struggling the most is the lack of energy which I think it doesn't help at all in order to feel better. I wake up tired, I barely have energy to do anything, the house becomes a mess which makes things worse but I can't find energy to do hardly anything.

At the moment I'm looking for work so the whole situation is bringing me down.

KC12,

Welcome to the Bryond Blue forum and thanks for taking time to write your post and share your thoughts. Many people think depression is just about being sad but as you know the total lack of energy and motivation can be debilitating and overwhelming.

Is there any Tim elf the day you have more enrgy than the rest of the day.?

I find if I can break things into 2 mins Then maybe build up to 5 mins. I will wash up for 2 mins or I will walk for 5 mins. It will. be an effort at first but is worth it.

well done in looking for work.

Is there an exercise younlike doing. I like walking and some days I have t push myself out the door.

Thanks for your answer. Yes, the lack of energy can be very overwhelming and I do feel it holds me back. I'll try to follow your advise and break things into short periods of time so they don't seem so overwhelming.

I do like walking but most days I really can't find the motivation to leave the house.

Thanks for your feedback.

Imknow it is so hard to be motivated to leave the house , Someone said to me to leave the house and start walking and don’t wait for motivation, as it will follow.

May. E try walking to the letter box or the road and come back until you feel tired. next day walk past the letter box and do a little more each day.

Take care
