It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

Hello my friends and what I chuckle I have had at thinking about you thinking about the duck pancakes..lol

So, they are a crepe like you said and in the crepe you put some hoisin sauce, a thin slice of cucumber and a small sprig of spring onion, then you top with the crispy skin duck that you have sliced up and even marinated peking style. It is soooo yummy and my kids love it too. Not a cheap meal but something nice to have when we are in lockdown and feeling a bit lousy.

I have been at home working today and have done some painting of a table that I have wanted to do for awhile too so that made me feel good to get that done. The kids are climbing the walls with boredom and the home schooling is really not going that well. My daughter is not too bad and she has another week at home but my son is back in the class room next week so he is happy about that.

People are just defeated really but what can we do, just try to stay calm and do what we have to do get this virus under control. I am now able to get the vaccine so I am going to wait one more week til my flu shot is clear then I will get my covid shot and hope I don't have the aftermath that you did.

I am back in the office tomorrow and I think that the cats will be happy to have the house back to themselves, although the kids will be here so they will still be annoyed..lol

The packing is coming along and I went through my son's wardrobe with him today and we threw so much out which is great. I feel like we are making progress, we will hit the daughter's room on the weekend...there is a task ahead.

The porridge sounded yum that you made and I am thinking that now it is getting so much cooler I am really going to think about making myself some..yum, I love it with sultanas and some brown sugar.

Well off to get some dinner and to see what exciting viewing there is on the TV tonight and hear all about the virus and how we are all locked up...sigh...I think I will watch a movie..lol

Am going to big town again to the east today , have a hairdresser appointment at 1245 . Want to get established with one out here . Sounded ok on the phone ? If I feel like it will go to opshop to . Money is getting a bit tight now as not been working much . My customer locally has been very quiet . Was supposed to move a D10 yesterday or today but that's moved to Monday now because of rain yesterday ? Not sure now if will return to pilot work ? If not have to get busy working out how to supplement income ? Leave that in the foam on the beach of life for a bit longer , if it washes out to sea then its gone or if it dries out on the sand it stays ?

My new doctor all that distance away is awesome and cheeky to . We are scheming to see if can get surgery on public system . Had such a hoot with the staff at the clinic on Wednesday . Healthcare people come out from Bris to help and the one took blood said to me she felt bad as I was female to her and when I spoke she thought she had misgendered me . I told her how happy that made me and we had very interesting discussion . Gave her title for Trauma Cleaner ? . Going to take my copy down to the lady who runs the clinic next time I go down there .

Hello my dear friend and cuddles to you HRS xx

The lockdown seems weird this time, kind of not real but at the same time like this is our new normal. I am really not sure what to think or how to feel and this is kind of new for me. I am keeping busy tho with still being able to work and yesterday's table painting did help. It is just my bedside table to start with, it is wood and I sanded it back and have painted it white. My bed is the same and will get stuck into that over the weekend I think.

The muffin was just what I needed today, it was a little double choc one and just hit all sorts of highs on the yummyness scale. Although I must admit I have been thinking alot about a donut today..so that may have to happen over the weekend...lol

Ohhh the hairdressers..I cannot wait to hear how that went and what you have decided to go with. It is great when you find one you like and they work well with your hair and you leave happy, sounds like an easy thing to find but it really isn't. I hope that you had success today.

And another ooohhh for the Op Shop...I love love love Op Shopping and just walking around and seeing what is there, it is very much like the Vintage Market we have talked about before, you just never know what you are going to find, it makes me so happy.

Now you mentioned surgery, this is something we have not talked about before so I am so excited to hear about this if you want to share what you are planning in that space. There are so many options these days which is awesome but expensive I bet. It would be so wonderful if you could have some of these costs covered for you, how exciting.

OMG..that is the best news ever about the healthcare people thinking that they misgendered you...I could hear that smile on your face when you were typing this, and I can only imagine how excited you were to hear this. Jo must be very comfortable in her skin now. I am so happy for you...so very happy. I am also glad that you found the Trauma Cleaner a book worthy of recommending to another, it really is such a mixed bag of emotion but one of such joy and heartache too...I am so glad that you loved it, tears aside.

Well I am off to do a few last things around the office and then head home to my kids who will be flopped all over the house from being fed up of lockdown and home schooling..lol...what joy!

Happy and warm good morning to you Sarah and all with you . Haven't heard latest news but last one I heard sounded hopeful of early lifting . I feel the frustration but haven't heard much of the underlying fear we all must harbour . For me that was most prominent at the beginning last year and seems to have made a home in the background . I think that is the main change in me and it is not particularly welcome yet we must be vigilant ? When I examine my thoughts and feelings I see that it is more influential than I would like ? Lol xxx .

The table and soon bed and perhaps a matching table will look grand in the new bedroom . Guessing you had to picture the new room before picking a colour ?

Donuts , yum ! Old school hot just cooked full of larva like red jam that oozes out when you bite, and lets not forget the sugar bath they have just had ! I am salivating ( really ) at this picture . So long since I have had that . Last time was years ago , northbound on the Bruce Hwy pulled into a nice rest stop and a caravan was there doing coffee and fresh donuts . Was packing up . He said to me he had 5 ( little ones ) left but were 20 min old . Had packed eftpos up and he gave them to me . Had to eat all 5 as not as good reheated . mmmmm

Hairdresser , just ended up doing eyebrows . Want to grow hair but she said we should use jel and endure now for a while till more to work with (spikes and colour? ) . It has 5.5 .months on it now from no comb . She's nice , will be going there now .

Op shop , went in and the counter person disappeared ( not because of me I dont think ) and it was lunch time and more people came in so as couldn't understand the sizes and needed a hand I left . Will return at different time . There was a nice black thigh length coat I liked .

Jo is very comfortable now and thank you so very much for caring . Shy though ! xxxx

Hello Sarah , how are you getting on ? So sorry that the new strain is here and your lockdown has continued rather than lifted xxxx hug . You have each other . ( + 1,2&3 ) . Did you get the bed painted ? Have you booked in for covid shot ?

Over time I have ( my mind is 3d mechanical and some times movie theatre ) glimpses of a roller derby lady darting through traffic scooping up round flat ducks of a busy road , with a cat on each shoulder and another watching behind . Perhaps one day I might try to draw that xx !😂

You asked about surgery , Orchidechtomy ( think spelling is ok ) . That should be in Wikipedia . Will end up with the female profile , that is the aim and no more larger amounts of testosterone . Have now worked out in all probability that am asexual so will be perfect . I miss intimacy in the form of company and cuddles and hugs . Pure love with another human would be perfect , not sure if that would or could ever be ? Last decade I met a lady who just hanging out together with was enough and so very comfortable ?

Got to push forward with establishing a community assistance thing and see what it looks like and if will be able to achieve that ? If not will end up working for someone in field + or volunteering .

Having a building anxiety thing at present . Moving D 10 on Monday and Kerry hasn't seen my present form and not sure what if any reaction it may or may not invoke . Want to keep this work , and I like the old fela to . Going 130 nw from here before dark and will be near a town with good grass for LD walks then leave there 0600 tomorrow out to load site ( about 30 km ).

Hello Jo and OMG...that is one teeny tiny little fur ball LD...I didn't realise how little you were...that new pic really does give a whole new term to the name HRS....just adorable.

I spent the weekend busy sanding and painting and the table and the bed frame look stunning in brilliant white. They look brand new so I am super happy about that. I have lots of pillows to throw on the bed so I am really looking forward to making the new room.

Well you will be pleased to hear that I got my donut fix on the weekend and had myself the most wonderful chocolate donut. Not the lava filled dream that you were speaking of..(wow I was salivating too at just reading your description) but it was just what I needed. Lockdown is proving a little challenging this time around and the small things really do make a big difference.

I haven't booked in for my shot as yet as I want to get the move over with before I take that on. As you know only too well, some are having reactions to it or at the very least feeling flu like symptoms so I want to get the house moved and sorted in the event that I come down with something and it hits me hard. So next week I will look at getting a booking to get the Pfzier shot.

I hope I didn't pry too much with questions on the surgery. I also have a friend of mine who's son (born female) is about to go through his first experience with the gender clinic. He is 13 and they want to get some things in place before the full effects of puberty come to fruition. I cannot believe how brave they are but I am also filled with so much love and hope at how the school is supporting him, (there is also another trans boy who attends the same school). I am just so full of hope when I hear how they support and how the other kids respond to the use of bathrooms and just their journey. It makes me so happy to hear that they have this support during such an emotionally tough journey.

I too celebrate mid winter (shortest day), not with any event but it has been something my dad has always done, especially with the ANARE and his relationship with Antarctica. June 21 this year will be the shortest day.

Very windy here today and it always seems so much colder when the wind is fierce.

Chocolate doughnut ! Wow , I am seeing a pattern . I simply love chocolate so much and top end handmade is my dream and preference so I don't dabble often , cost and availability ? My fiends in NT have a chocolate factory , all hand made . Guess who likes a job that ends up in Darwin ? Its really fun making it as well as eating it .

Your friends with trans son are so beautiful for being supportive as well as the school and other students . It is so encouraging to see what should always have been normalized ! YAY !

We ( LD & I ) worked as ------ yesterday . Was hourly job and took all day . ( phone battery is dying , thats what happened yesterday morning ) . Very mixed feelings about that . Was with a regular customer of truck owner . Took D10 140 km back to his property for rebuild ( engine and transmission ) . Had lunch at homestead after unloading and packing up . Think his wife saw Jo . All Akubra country there ?

All the very best with the fasting day, that sounds very hard to do and I am not sure that I would be very successful at it. My dad does two big fasts a year, they go for 20 days! He says you feel amazing for it at the end but during the process you have to completely surrender to it and not go to work etc. He said that the smell that comes out of his pores is atrocious and you would not want to be around anyone! Also that you have to sleep when your body says so and completely commit to the process. I really don't think it is for me..lol.

I love love love chocolate too and really have to watch it or can demolish a whole block in one sitting..sigh! But yes, the donut was amazing and I am not going to talk too much about it as it will induce a whole new craving for another one..lol

I hear what you are saying in that the whole surgery topic is so personal and I certainly don't want to offend either, it is hard to guage that over text tho. My friends son is starting to wear a binder and will have the top surgery first. I think that this is the usual process but am not sure how the bottom surgery works from F to M, will have to research that some more. I really like the idea tho of surgery on the top from M to F as you can choose what you want, the size and the shape and that is a luxury that some women don't have, so I think that is very exciting. Then there is the other exciting part of bra shopping..I love that! I love how you are open to discuss this as you are right, the more it is spoken about the less the stigma is around it...I feel like this with suicide, people kind of curl up in a ball when the work is used but I tend to keep going and speak its name, so the stigma can be smashed. I would love to hear what you are most looking forward to, also what frightens you ..if you want to share as I appreciate that is very personal.

Another personal question if you are ready? How long do you think it will be until Jo is running the show? I understand that yesterday you worked as ......., that must be hard to manage when you no longer align with this person anymore. Once again, only up for discussion if you feel like it Jo xxx

Jolly good morning to you young Sarah xx . Chocolate is a hard one . To do with won't power I think . I rarely buy it because I won't stop till its all gone ? I just know this is me so I won't buy it ( mostly ). Had a bad air leak on a dolly ( on a road train ) at a roadhouse once , sat there @2200 on high idle for 20 min to build up air to go and during that time demolished a whole family block of top deck chocolate . Never touched top deck since !

About surgery , I won't have top done as that is growing nicely without intervention . When they stop growing they will be ( quite noticeable now ) a small B cup I think . Rule of thumb is 2/3 of your mums size ( very rough guide ). I am very happy with size now . Not in your face but well proportioned if I wear tight clothes .All this is accomplished with hormones. Must remember that I am chasing elegant with a touch of natural beauty . Pretty much there I think but need new appropriate wardrobe now .

Might have a visit from a pilot lady friend later in week . She has bought a house in the coalfields and is going to live there by Christmas I hope as the plan is to have Xmas there ? She is going to be my playmate for shopping as I am quite shy in that regard .

Jo is already the only 1 now . The last hump was my local guy and I was stressed about losing my work but I dropped by the yard yesterday to give invoice and told him and he was fine with that . Very old school am so glad is ok . I figure if not to in the face out here should be ok ?

Now for the most part can just be Jo and it will work . There will be a low level connection with deadname while working , think that will be ok now ?

Fast was for hospital yesterday , all good prep for orchidectomy ( if we can scam it )
