The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay

Hi all,

Thanks for the Quick-Eze mmMekitty, felt much better. Had a nice sedate homemade pizza today, but it is not as good as your Grande sandwich! I'll have one of them tomorrow.

I talk to my budgie Johnny during the day and when I am studying. He's a great little mate he gets very funny if he catches me watching him drinking water (who woulda thought?) and loves to hear female singers on my phone, he gets all puffed up and raises his right leg. So cute. I also have a cat "Fluff" (the cat and the bird ignore each other) who snuggles up to me at night whilst I am watching these crazy politicians. I talk to her too, but she completely ignores me and goes about her way. Still love her though.

I'm sorry that a fish and chips shop is so far away from you Grandy, such comfort food is needed when you are giving everyone good advice (and hugs) on these forums. And Monkey Magic, I have trouble shifting my lard as well. So I feel for you! I'm on all these meds which keep the weight up, which is such a downside to them. Well, I'd better get back to the books, still a week and a half to go until the mid-semester break! I"ll be in for the bacon, turkey cranberry, lettuce, and camembert cheese El Grande tomorrow!

I meant to mention, I used to talk to Mekitty all the time, trying to mimic her 'meow' & the 'mep-mep' sound she made when I was on the loo! We had nice little chats 'mep-mepping back & forth between us. I also tried to mimic purring, but I think that needs circular breathing to really achieve. & maybe a special mechanism in my chest as well, to really make me hum! 😸I love purring so much, I'd get one the day they become available to implant.

I always found the thought she was somewhere, even sleeping silently under my bed, was a comfort.

Some meds do have a way of causing weight gain, fluid retention, metabolism changes, or fatigue (grumble, grumble), some other annoyance, drat them!

I talked to a blue tongue lizard and my teddy bears.

are the Blue-Tongued Lizard & teddy bears on speaking terms, too?

Hello everyone..

I am so pleased that I’m not the only one...I really do think that sometimes our pets do understand our words....I know mine understand me....I only have to mention the word “lolly ” meaning a treat...and they run straight to the cupboard where I keep them....😁..

Hi Grandy and all,

I think my cat responds to her name and knows when I’m talking about her (her tail starts swishing every time).

And she makes ‘chattering’ sounds back to me sometimes if I talk to her while she’s purring.

I’d love to know what our pets are thinking.

hi all. i don't really have anything to contribute to this conversation. i do have a silly question though. do you think it's normal if you're a fan of some celebrity such as an actor etc, to defend them in real life & if they're an actor, their character(s)? i think it's perfectly normal & common. i've mostly seen it with young people being defensive, like myself, but also with some older people. sorry this is random & stupid & off topic. i just wanted to know if i'm not the only one who does that. i think it's fine doing so.

Hello Tayla,

It's fine to talk about any random stuff, here, in this Café, for general & casual conversation. 😺

I've heard people who seem to have confused the fictional character with the real person who works as an actor. & I think this would be difficult for actors to deal with if any of these people have contact with them.

Mostly I hear people talking as if they know, when they don't know, what the actor is really like as a person, because all they've seen is them playing a role here & there.

I hear someone saying they don't like how someone behaves or how they look, or what they wear, voicing opinions again, about people they don't know. Or responding to some gossip from some media source, which really cannot be trusted at all.

But like the politicians, how they behave while out in public, on camera, doing interviews, may not be like you'd see them in private either.

So, I tend to not 'defend' or even say what my opinion is very much.

Warmly,

mmMekitty

Hello Dear Tayla, and everyone...🤗..

Tayla, dear sweet girl...please don’t ever apologise for asking questions here..,Honestly, their is no such thing as a silly question..or stupid off topic...here in the cafe it’s always open conversations....as long as it’s light...

I don’t watch much tv now....I do know the actors of the classic/ golden era.....and some of today’s actors through social media...but I’ve never felt the need to know them in any other way except in their role as actors...

I think..in my opinion only...if anyone wants to follow an actors screen life and/or off screen life...that’s their privilege to do so.....maybe that’s where their passion is....I think many people do, do this....and that perfectly acceptable if it’s done with respect...

Its really cold where I live today..,so I’m going to snuggle into one of those doonas over their with a mug of hot chocolate and a warm cinnamon muffin,..

Hugs 🤗, everyone...

Grandy..
