At this hour, I find myself particularly vulnerable because I am heavily sleep deprived, and my brain can't really process. I have been awake for 21 hours and 12 minutes straight after a string of nights of only a few hours' sleep. I don't feel well, nor do I feel sleepy. So, I am listening to the soundtrack of my life entitled "Walkabouts" and right now, the perfect song to describe what I am feeling (at least the chorus of it) is Madness by Muse. Has anyone ever felt like they could communicate more if they did it through the songs that already exist? I challenge us to have a conversation consisting of song quotes.
So, dedicated to my depression; here I go...
Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mad mad mad...Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mad mad mad....Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mad mad mad...Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mad mad mad...I, I can't get these memories ooout of my mind, and some kind of maaaadness has started to evolve. Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mad mad mad...Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mad mad mad... And I, I tried so hard to let you go-ooo, but some kind of maaaadness is swallowing me whole, yeah....Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mad mad mad...Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mad mad mad...I have finally seen the light. And I have finally realized, what you mean....
Ooh oh oh
[MODERATOR'S NOTE: Hi everyone, just a reminder that song lyrics are copyrighted material, and we (as in BB) can get into trouble for reproducing them without permission. If you could just keep to sharing song titles, or one or two lines from the song at most, rather than whole lyrics that would be great - that way we can keep this thread open. ]

Hey Pet James Joelle
That track just came off the top of my head. I Love it to bits but being single since early 2015 it can bring back memories of being close and intimate. Gee I let my force field down 🙂 Paulxx

Hi J, J P (hey that's a great name for a band.... JJP and the Pet) sorry...I know... please humour my silliness here and any future silliness you may come across on conversing with me, I need to make things a little silly at times otherwise I can bring myself down. 😔
Anyhow (serious face here) I find that some songs I've collected along the way that are attached to certain events or periods in my life are not well received if I'm not in a good place at that point in time (force field down?). This is another sign to me that I'm not quite balanced, and there's potential for a pet-wobble if I don't nip this in the bud (bring out the MH toolkit!).
For example, the song by U2 With or Without You, if I'm not in a good place, can take me back to Brut-boyfriend (drowned himself in the aftershave 'Brut' and was unfortunately a brut by nature, especially to me, both physically and mentally) the radio or other, is shutdown immediately. However, when I'm in a good place, I can sing along to this song, recognising it as a musical masterpiece, and not wasting the 3 or so minutes thinking about that brut!
Of course the flip side to this is that there are so many songs that are attached to good times and good people in my life, and these take pride of place in my 'Upbeat playlist' which I listen to often, to avoid the potential for a pet-wobble! If you haven't already noticed I give pet names to the not-so-nice things and attach these to my nickname because if these things are to be a part of me, I'm going to take ownership in the hope I have control. Avoiding the reverse if I can. Does this make sense?
Music is so powerful.
Pet 😊 xx

Hi Dottie123
I'll have to check these out. I do know the U2 one. I may have heard the others and I don't recognise the song and artists. These days that's possible with me. I don't keep up with music like I used to.
Thanks for sharing.
Pet 😊

No worries at all, Pet 😊
Music is so subjective but maybe you'll like at least one of them.

Nobody loves you when your down and out John Lennon
Nobody loves you when you're down and out
Nobody sees you when you're on a cloud nine
Everybody Hustlin for a buck and a dime
I'll scratch your back and You scratch mine

While I'm far away from you my baby
I know it's hard for you my baby
Because it's hard for me my baby
And the darkest hour is just before dawn
