hey Ttrung,
I am sorry you're having a tough time, I also suffer from anxiety. I found with my own struggle that there was no one solution. I had multiple things that triggered me and had to find different solutions for each. that could be medication, breathing exercises, therapy sessions or even time away. Sometimes it takes a few goes at therapy for things to truly sink in. I had to learn not to get upset when after months of being okay I had to go back to therapy. Sometimes we need refreshers and sometimes we may need to alter our methods to suit the issue at hand.
Hang in there........ One step, One Breath, One moment at time,
Bear

Hi Ttung and welcome to the BB forums. We are like yourself, fellow forum users going through a similar situation. We are hear to help give support as well as ask for support. We will always answer you the best way we can and in a quick and timely manor but please forgive us if it is not immediate.
I know how frustrating anxiety is. I myself have been diagnosed with GAD. I consisder myself ATM pretty good anxiety wise. However for me it is like the weather. Some days it is really good and sunny. Other days it is cloudy and a I have some anxiety and some days it is like a thunderstorm and my anxiety gives me a lot of physical symptoms. It is frustrating feeling as if you are getting better but then have some set backs. But with treatment and support you will have a lot more good days then bad. I promise you. I was in your shoes around 2 years ago and me just looking back I can see how far I have come. It sometimes takes some time to figure our what treatment method works for you. I am on medication as well as counseling (not so much counseling know due to financial reason, but still go occasionally when I can). I had to change medications last year based on my situation and the dr suggested a chance, which has worked well for me. I suggest talking to your dr or therapist about your ups and downs with anxiety. This can help identify a trigger or help with future treatment methods. I found when I held back I made less progress.
Have you tried meditation. I find it helps me sleep when my mind is racing. Helps me focus on the moment and helps me calm down and vitiate anxiety.

Hi Ttrung,
Your story is very similar to my own, thank you for sharing. I'm sorry to hear of your struggles, anxiety can be so overwhelming both physically and emotionally. I'm new here too and I think it's going to be one of the first great steps I take in trying to manage and get through.
In my case, earlier this year I ended up in emergency with unbearable chest pain. I had every test they could do and there was no telling me that there wasn't something wrong. I was dumbfounded when they said they couldn't find a cause for the pain and that it was likely related to something psychological. When the case was referred to my GP she explained that the symptoms were likely caused by my anxiety which caused something similar to reflux/indigestion. My fear that is was something serious made the symptoms worse. It turned out to be completely treatable and I can now identify and manage it when it occurs. Managing my GAD is now my focus.
This is only my experience with chest pain and so I cannot say whether this is what is happening in your case. I think it would be greatly beneficial for you to see your GP or another health professional who makes you feel comfortable enough telling what you've been through. Just talking about it can help immensely.
I wish you all the best

Hi T4
Thats ok many many people are on medications for anxiety and depression.
For medications though id recommend a psychiatrist as they specialise in these sorts of medications
Good luck and let us know how you go 🙂

Hi T4
I too experience the nasty side effects of anxiety, so I think I have a slight idea of what it feels like for you. I am sorry you have to go through this. You have probably heard this a thousand times, but yoga and meditation are so wonderful for things like anxiety. While they may not get rid of the problem entirely, it sure is a great way to unwind and get in touch with your breathing (all anxiety sufferers know breathing is never easy when feeling anxious) plus relaxing muscles and the body. Anxiety is not simple, and there is never any one way to deal with it - that is something I've learnt. Think of it this way - you keep trying to beat anxiety, to stand up when it knocks you down, and although it is repetitive and exhausting, you get better at knowing what to do and how to deal with it each time. Take it day by day, one step at a time, and dont be afraid to put yourself first! keep pushing through, I have faith you'll find a way.
