I feel so anxious I want to cry

Hello there,

I am 28 years old and recently received a job offer for a retail store that's opening up in my city soon. I went to meet the manager the other day, and I've already told a few of my friends that I got the job, however there's a couple of things that I'm really worried and stressed about and whenever I think about it, it makes me want to cry. The thing is, I've never had a job before due to personal reasons, and this is all so new to me, I have training in a couple of weeks time and meeting the team but I'm not sure if I can do this, and I've heard so many horror stories or stories about customer service and I don't think I'm suited for it... I'm not confident at all with meeting new people and at the moment I'm having second thoughts about this new job... I have no idea what to do. My friends all believe that it's great and I can do this but I just feel so stressed and feel like I don't think I can... I don't think I can even go to this training thing....

Does anyone have advice about this? Maybe share your experience with retail?

That’s ok Pureison, 😊

I understand anxiety I had severe anxiety OCD…… I have now recovered from this condition thanks to the professional help I received……

if you feel like your anxiety is affecting your life please seek help for it because you can recover from it with the correct help……

my recovery started from seeing my gp we did a mental health plan together this then enabled me to see a clinical psychologist who gave me many strategies for anxiety, I saw a psychiatrist who diagnosed me and I did a 8 week therapy for OCD… this is we’re I learned to master my OCD..

You can be given many strategies for anxiety just step forward and ask for help so you can learn to manage it and recover 😊

That’s wonderful news that you have recovered, I’m so pleased to hear that.

how did you began talking to your doctor about it? Compared to others my anxiety doesn’t seem that bad, so I don’t want to waste time in case it’s nothing.

Hi all,

Update:

I think what my problem is that I'm stressing because I'm not very good at meeting new people, I struggle a lot with making conversations and the thing is I guess the whole situation being new to me, it's just feels like I'm stepping into the deep end too fast, even though it might not look like it. I guess It's also the fact that I have to do this training and I have no idea what to expect or who or how many people would be there, and it would feel so new and real and it just feels like a lot too handle at once.

Thanks Pureison, 😊

When I saw my gp I didn’t know what was wrong with me….. I thought I was going crazy……. I told my doctor what my symptoms were and the doctor told me it was anxiety…….

When you see your gp just let the doctor know how you are feeling and how the anxiety is affecting your life…

please don’t think you are wasting the doctors time…. YOU deserve the help you need……. The doctor is there to help you…. 😊
