Hi everyone, You might’ve noticed things look a little different on the Forums homepage. We’ve been working behind the scenes to make the Forums easier to use, especially for people visiting for the first time. Here’s a rundown of what’s changed and why: Real discussions, right up front We’re now showing actual posts from the community on the homepage. This gives new visitors a better idea of what the Forums are all about; people like them supporting each other through mental health and life challenges. It’s what makes the Forums so special. Easier to find topics, from any device When you’re on your phone, you can now easily access Forums topics. These are the topics that were previously on the homepage. If you’re looking for these you’ll now find them by clicking Topics in the main menu on whatever device you’re using. Clearer links for newbies You’ll now see clearer links to key info designed for first-time visitors and new members like the Forum Guidelines and FAQs. These are great starting points to help people understand how things work and feel more confident joining in. Why we made these changes We know the Forums can be an effective support, but for new visitors, it wasn’t always clear what they were or how to get involved. With this update, we’re hoping to: help people discover the supportive community here encourage more sharing and support in discussions Tell us what you think We’d love to hear your thoughts! If you’ve got feedback or ideas, reply to this post and let us know. Hello everybody Some of you may remember our big update in July 2022 with a brand new look and feel for our Forums, and we thank everyone for the feedback and support while we’ve improved on this new experience. Coming up soon we’ll make our next big change, and this time our login, registration, profile picture upload and account management features are getting a refresh. What does this mean? The software that runs the login and registration experience will be swapped out for a new, secure platform to handle your anonymous identity while you use the Forums. We’re really excited for this opportunity to improve the experience of using the Forums while also increasing the security of your information. It also will finally resolve an issue many of you have raised with us - that you haven’t been able to update your profile pictures / avatars. As part of the change we’ll be moving that feature into the Forums itself - and in the not so distant future you’ll be managing it in the same place you manage your notifications (https://forums.beyondblue.org.au/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/personal-profile). From this point on, we’ll be using this space in the forums to provide updates on the work that’s in play, to get your feedback and comments and really bring you along this journey. When can we expect these changes? At this stage we’re aiming to make this improvement at the end of March 2024 - and if there’s any changes to that timing we’ll be sure to let you know. We would love to hear your thoughts, feedback and questions! While we can’t respond super quickly to all questions, the aim is to send answers to any questions we’ve received. i just wrote a long reply to someone and got notified it was over the word length but there is no word count available - I deleted heaps of it and still it said it was over the limit - I was down to a couple of sentences and it still said it was over... View more

i just wrote a long reply to someone and got notified it was over the word length but there is no word count available - I deleted heaps of it and still it said it was over the limit - I was down to a couple of sentences and it still said it was over, so I gave up and deleted the entire reply. This is so frustrating. Why is there no word count available when we are typing replies please?

Help with “unread” replies

Please help! I’m logged in and trying to follow through on some posts. Where it says at the bottom of the post “x unread” when I click on that to see the replies, nothing happens. I just can’t seem to get any synchronicity whatsoever.

Hello, it’s AL2. I finally found all my replies just recently from over 10 months ago and was replying to everyone who sent wonderful advice to me!!! I’m so sorry I couldn’t find them before. I was in the middle of replying to another C.M. When I was interrupted, I turned iPad on again and now can’t find the reply I was writing to thank someone. I am logged in and keep going to either my discussions or my thread but can’t see any of the lovely people who wrote to me. HELP please again!!!! I have tried everything I can think of! Thank you anyone with patience to help me. AL
