Hi everyone, This section of the forum is a little different to the others, as you may have noticed in looking around the threads. Elsewhere on the forums, we discuss some pretty heavy topics: mental health issues, thoughts of suicide, trauma, abuse, relationship breakdowns. Here is the place to come to get away from that and have a bit of fun. Distraction can be an important tool to draw on if you're finding yourself overwhelmed by distressing thoughts and feelings. As this is a section for respite from difficult topics, we will remove posts made in this section that attempt to discuss personal issues. Please use a support thread in the appropriate section for these discussions. Happy posting!

To my fellow BB Forum regulars... Though it is not a frequent event, it does happen from time to time. One of us are deeply moved by another's insightfullness, sincerity, caring, and general selfless nature. Often it is okay to make mention of them directly on the thread where it happened, and sometimes doing so may seem a bit off topic... and therefore inappropriate to do so in that instance. I think it is very important that we pay heed to those who have made a profound and lasting impression upon us. As in doing so, we help each other rise our heads above the doom and gloom of our problems, and for a moment in time, feel happy about ourselves once again. So I am starting this thread where we can give each other a pat on the back for a job well done. And I start this day with a BIG thank you to my friend Paul (a.k.a. BlondGuy) for his comments on the "We all of talk of racisim..." thread. You have really made me feel like a welcome member of this community. Anthony

Complaining is a basic human right. This is a conversation just for those ridiculous first world problems and never the serious stuff. I'll start. One reason I catch the train is for the little shop. You have to like a little shop don't you think? The doctor likes a little shop. Anyway, for some reason it gets shut for an hour mid journey. Not to restock or anything. I think it is just done to confuse me and to deny one of life's essentials- coffee. I'm not sure why I am enamoured with the shop because the food is rubbery and the service randomly hostile or pleasant. Perhaps it is Stockholm syndrome.

Hello everyone Wanted to give a shout out of epic proportions today and I really hope others will feel able to join me... Geoff I hope this doesn't embarrass you... You're always quietly working away supporting others and searching for posts without replies or that others have found difficult to respond to. ❤❤❤❤❤ A massive THANK YOU to our friend Geoff For your 10,000 (well 10,008 now actually) posts on the forums helping others. This deserves recognition because you are part of the glue that has kept the forums running for so long. I for one value you and what you have given to others freely. Congratulations Geoff. ❤ Nat

I'm not entirely sure how apt a discussion this is for beyondblue, but in the spirit of communication and reaching out which is encouraged, I thought I would write post up, get a few opinions or thoughts. I should say, I'm tired all the time, especially in the mornings, it's very hard to get out of bed and think about the day that I have to face. I've always attributed this to the kinds of dreams I have - more like nightmares, really - and being an active sleeper, thus not feeling rested in the morning. This is no matter how much sleep I get. I get these really vivid dreams, and almost always they feel too real to me, that when I wake up it's hard to let go of the memory. They can be traumatic and stay with me the whole day. And if I'm not distracted enough, sometimes without thinking about it, I'm re-immersed in the dream, and I can picture myself in it all over again. Like some kind of virtual reality. And it can get so bad that I start getting anxious that when I get older all I'll remember are my dreams and none of my life. I really don't want that. The dreams can get so bad that I question if I'm awake or not when I am awake. I guess that in itself should be a clue that I am awake, because I don't really question my reality in my dreams. And sometimes, I just don't want to sleep, though I'm thoroughly exhausted, because of what I may dream - and this can make it worse possibly? I've spoke to a GP and relaxation was recommended to me, but according to people I know, I don't really know how to get rest. I'm just wondering if other people have this issue? And if so, how they cope?
