Young person (13 years old) with anger issues

Hi, does anyone have experience with how to deal with a child (13) that has massive anger issues?

Currently on antianxiety medication.

Child lashes out at parents (hitting and kicking).

If you are in a similar situation, how do you manage it?

Extra medication to control the anger?

Thanks

Hi Mike 9,

Wellcome to our forums!

Sorry your 13 year old is going through this…

We are all here as a community to listen to you and support you….

Can I ask if you have seen a health professional about your 13 year olds behaviour? A psychologist?

Hi Mike

I do understand what you are going through and it can be awful to experience. The forums are non judgmental as you know....It is common for young teens to rebel...as its a part of the hormonal changes..especially at 13

Only if its okay....can I ask why your son/daughter is on anti anti-anxiety medication?

we are good listeners Mike..Im Paul...a volunteer on the forums

Sorry Mike9 that you still have the same issues….

Has your son been able to tell you why he gets so angry and feels the need to hit and kick?

How is your sons behaviour at school?
