Hi Hocko11,

Firstly, welcome to the forums.

Honestly, I think many people have lost their jobs before and at 17 years of age, it can be very unsettling to lose a job as it may of been your first but honestly I have no doubt that you will find a job again. I got my first real job when I left school and within a year I lost it, same position, I thought I wasn't going to find a job again, after a couple of months I found one and stuck to it and it turned into the career path I am still in today. Point I am trying to make is, you are young and unfortunately some of us go through these patches where we do lose our jobs but all I can say is just keep applying for new jobs, maybe seeking out a work counsellor who may be able to find work for you, not sure if they do that for under 18 year olds but worth looking at I think.

It will all be ok.

My best for you,

Jay

Hey Hocko,

I'm 25 now and I know what you mean by feeling like it can really hurt your self-confidence. But it's good to remember not only that you got the job in the first place, but also that you're here talking to us and trying to improve your life. So not only do you have the qualities people are looking for, but you're also trying to improve yourself.

You'll find something again. In the meantime, like Jay said, keep applying and even have a think about side projects like learning new skills or doing free online courses that you can do to pass the time. These are great things to be able to talk to a prospective employer about later on, and it helps build your self-confidence too, knowing that you've been keeping yourself busy.
