Stuck and need help

So I don't really know how to get myself out of this 'dark black hole' so to speak. I have no motivation to do anything, I don't want to leave the house, I don't want to talk to any of my friends or family. I feel constantly sad, anxious and especially angry but I'm not sure why? And that makes me even more upset. I just feel so frustrated and upset with everything and everyone. I am always there to listen to my friends when they are sad, but it seems whenever I need someone to talk to, they are no where to be seen, they won't answer my calls or messages or they just turn the conversation back onto themselves and I end up consoling them, once again. I guess I just feel so alone and stuck.

Hi Brookey,

Have you seen your GP about how you’re feeling? It’s important to get help for your depression/depressive symptoms. When talking to a professional about your thoughts and feelings, you can start to work out what is making you feel so angry, sad and anxious. When trying to talk to your family and close friends about how you’re feeling, I suggest doing it in-person, rather than by text or call. This way, you will be able to more easily communicate to them directly.

Good luck and take care,

SM

dear Brookey, welcome to the site.

I agree with SM it would be a good idea to go and see your doctor, but as you have posted in the 'young section' I'm not sure how old you are and whether you can actually go by yourself.

Depression is a nasty illness that lingers around, it can go but then it can return, but no on can overcome this illness by themselves, they may believe that they can, but what they don't realise is that there are many deep problems which cause it, so if someone tries to overcome they tend to avoid these problems because they are way too upsetting, so they branch over them, but that doesn't help at all, because these deep concerns need to be sorted out.

It would be good to hear back from you. Geoff.
