HI Im123

Yes it is possible to have multiple types of anxiety disorders. They each have a different common trait. GAD is more general anxieties, snowballing worries or someone that is a worrier. Social anxiety is someone who has anxiety about particular social occassions (can be meeting new people or concerns what people think about them etc). OCD can be someone having obsessional thoughts that cause compulsions e.g. someone might have obsessional thoughts about cleanliness and their compulsion is to constantly clean their hands. So yes you can have multiple and different types of anxiety disorders in one person, however it is up to the physician to put an official diagnosis on it. But in saying that sometimes dr only write or diagnose the most prominant one (some people don't like multiple labels and dr can be aware of that also)

Hope this helps

hi Im, I can't agree any more than the reply MsPurple has given you, as I've had GAD, OCD, SA, but will still have OCD as I've had it for 57 years, so yes there many types of anxiety and this illness comes under the heading of depression, some other people may not agree with me and that's OK as each to their own. Geoff.
