I Have No IRL Friends

Hi everyone. I'm 20 years of age,
and an introvert.
All my "friends" reside online. I even got in my first relationship
just 2 weeks ago with a girl I met online who I love very much.
Everyone I've ever met has had their own real life friends... and then there's
me.
I
envy everyone. I get jealous. Whenever I hear about people going out with their
friends, reality suddenly hits me. I don't remember the last time I've hung out
with people. I don't remember the last time I've had... 'real' friends. Even
those who've claimed they too, have had no IRL friends, have gotten the
opportunity to meet up with their online friends. Nothing like that has ever
happened to me. I
feel as though I am on the verge of breaking down, it's just so painful to
think about.
Even though I have an (online) girlfriend now whom I trust and I know loves me
very much, even though I have these so-called friends on the internet... I
still feel empty. I guess I'm just extremely introverted and lack the social
skills and confidence to go out there and somehow make friends.
Well, that's all I gotta say for now... I appreciate anyone who replies to this with their own similar experiences or perhaps even some advice for me. Feel free to ask questions, I feel as though I left a lot of information out but can't think straight at the moment...
Thanks for your time.

Hi Strawbewwi
Welcome to the forums and good on you for having the courage to post too!
You have nothing to apologise for at all 🙂 There are many introverts (as you mentioned) on the forums that can say hello and share your anguish.....no worries at all
Online friends can be a help sometimes. Its just when we need a 'true friend' to talk to face to face it becomes hard.
The Forums have a great 'Young Peoples' thread that has many very kind people that may be able to help you more than I can as I am in my 50's...doh!
No matter what the age is there are many hundreds of people here that cant 'think straight' too
You are not alone Strawbewwi...no matter where you post on the forums 🙂
Try this link Strawbewwi....It will take you straight to the young peoples thread discussion
